As a former student way back then, I have every right to say that this school was not for me. I've had an difficult time in 7th and 8th grade. I was completely ostracized from my peers the entire year. I've been made fun of indirectly many times and treated like an alien. It wasn't a great system, every student would be divided into minor teams. ABCD for 7th grade. EFGH in 8th. With each team maybe ranging around 60~90 kids in each of them. I was on Team H then, and it was horrific. My peers would pick at my insecurities, everyone would have friends besides me, I've sat alone on lunch tables all day and been working separately my entire years. My teachers noticed that I was alone with no friends and yet they failed to ever accommodate me for group projects or reach out to me personally for being the only kid alone in an compacted environment. The hardest moment for me was when a lunch lady would give me sympathy for being alone the entire year, the same lunch lady who'd see me every day getting lunch and watch me sit alone. The same lunch lady that took action to encourage me, ones that my own teachers failed to do so even noticing my circumstances directly in classrooms. These teachers failed me in a safe environment. This is trauma I carry to myself to this day. It was hard being an 13 year old kid having no idea what to do when your entire grade was against you, teachers did nothing, and you were too scared to open up to your family. Now I'm in college and found a new life beyond that time.

My son was diagnosed with ASD at 2 years old and this school has done so much to improve his education. I’m in constant communication with his teachers. They have at least 2 teachers in the class at all times. He’s in second grade now and there’s about 6 other kids. There’s daily logs or communication sheets in his folder and it’s filled out every day. The teachers also post on classdojo and inform us often about what is going on in class that day.I can see the effort and focus they put on not only my child but his classmates as well. He has an Individual Education Plan (IEP) where he gets speech, occupational and behavioral therapy all within the school. He gets one on one time which really helped him. The case manager knows us by name and face. I can feel they genuinely want the kids to succeed as everyone is so involved.

This school is the best school. I do not wish for a second that I went anywhere else.
