"Is a very supportive community with sidewalks, parks, a great bookstore with a very good children’s section and a variety of restaurants "
  • Jackson Oglesby
"Lots of activity and opportunities to interact with other dog owners. Tends to be a very dog friendly city."
  • Trulia User
"Everything is typically within a fifteen to twenty minute drive. The big loop around the city gives easy access to get to all different areas of town, including UGA, popular shopping centers, and restaurants. "
  • Gina Ashley
"Trick or treating on Boulevard! Love it here so much! Could not pick a better area to raise a family in"
  • Jyoung530
"Very safe and kinda friendly but most folks do keep to themselves or interact with their own family. There is only a very light traffic of homeowners in my subdivision but unfortunately there are no sidewalks or play areas for the kids. Folks walk their dogs in the street. Children play in their own front or back yards it seems. You rarely see or hear them out and they won’t recognize you as a neighbor. This is unfortunate but typical of neighborhoods in this area and in the South."
  • Grady Thrasher
"Very walkable, great shops and restaurants, beautiful old homes. Decent number of rentals, which has positives and negatives. "
  • Trulia User

"It’s a pleasant 2 mi. Circle in the middle, across which a road runs through it. Giving you several choice about how much to wak. Traffic runs slow. Walkers are easily ridden around with plenty of room. "
  • Trulia User
"A lot of college students or otherwise young adults. More grad students than undergrad. A few small families. "

  • Astyanax66

"I love how quiet the neighborhood is and how kind all of our neighbors are. So grateful for a diverse and close knit community. Easy to walk to all of the most popular places. Just outside of Normaltown and in one of the best school zones in the county. Knottingham is a very special place to live."

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 2 year and the property is clean and well kept. And very respectful neighbors."
  • Alise D.
"Bike ride to work. Little Over a mile. Beautiful quiet streets and a sidewalk on the busiest road. Only a couple lights along the way."
  • Chuck
"Barber street is usually covered in plastic cups from Greek rich kids parties. They also think it’s fine to just congregate in the streets and park like Barber is their driveway. But I do love boulevard and surrounding area. Have lived in this area for 17 years. I hear the school district is great. And being able to walk to downtown is fantastic."
  • Thomas B.
"Pool, dog park, playground, close to Walmart, Aldis, McDonalds, Kroger. Great maintenance department."
  • Elizabeth H.
"neighborhood picnics9 We have a lot of neighborhood get together. The kids all get along and ride bikes, play outside or hangout at different places 🤔"

  • Savie R. A.
"Awesom town! Not too big and not too small. There are plenty of fun things to do almost every weekend "
  • Si Z.
"my neighborhood in normaltown. cute, expensive, but fun. I love my neighbors. people's yards are landscaped really well also. "
  • Ronnie A.
"More and more people are living here but the roads are staying the same size since the past 30 years. Traffic can be horrible going to work in the morning, and getting off work, from 4pm to 6pm, forget going anywhere. Depending what part of Athens you’re in, will effect your view on Athens. There’s a poor lifestyle and there’s a wealthy lifestyle to this town. Slowly Athens is updating its lifestyle to fit wealthy families. It sure is a college town, and traffic is much better once the college students are out of town. I’ve lived here my whole life so I know where to go and where not to go. I’ve seen girls/college girls out walking in places they shouldn’t have been walking (out of town ppl don’t know any better) but they think since it’s a college town it’s ok, and that’s where they’re wrong. Overall nice town but way too crowded. "
  • Brooke K.
"recovery fest and athfest are great plus all the vintage shops are quaint and not chained out. lots if life bands"
  • Allisonwhogue
"I drive to Oakwood every day, and it’s an easy commute. Not much traffic and a steady flow. Much better than when I lived in Atlanta! "
  • Prissymissy678
"Weekend events and UGA events.convenience to restaurants and shopping. Neighbors are not neighborly. Too much crime and police do not do their jobs."
  • Samantha E.
"Our current neighborhood isn’t that great. There’s not a lot of courtesy that gets displayed between residents, it’s in a sketchy part of town, and there have been a few crimes that have occurred here in a short amount of time. Would not recommend raising your children here. Also the public schools are terrible."
