The issue with this rating system and all metrics that try to evaluate schools side by side is that they can never account for the parents' background and the home environment. Is it a surprise that the two highest-rated schools in our area are also the two areas with the highest average income? Does that mean that those schools teach better? No, it means that the parents are most likely educated and place a higher value on education, which is why they make more. There is no objective test for these schools. The real test would be what the school starts with in terms of a student and how they develop that student. Millard Hawk is an excellent school because it is safe and has a caring, vested principal and teachers who want to make a difference. If you want your child to learn and you take an active role in their education, then Central Square Schools can get your student as far as they want to go. If you aren't going to take an active role, then you have unreasonable expectations of what any school can do.I predict that as new, higher-end housing developments are built, the district's average household income will increase, and its overall test scores will improve comparatively.

I am from the class of 2003 from PVM and when I was in school everything about it was great, students, teachers, and staff. Loved every second of it. Once the mascot changed, it seemed everything else changed too, they force retired a lot of teachers, bus drivers, and even aids. The school also does not have any specialty programs, like Radio Club, or any programs for Autistic children. Would recommend if you have to choose this school. Make sure to meet with each teacher before sending your kid. I think they should revert to the old ways, it was obviously working. Why change it? My education took me very far.

The kids are homophobic and racist. The school administrators and employees don’t even do a thing about it.
