They are extremely vindictive, and the administration won't do anything about it. Rockwall has become a B rated district for many reasons.Parent Review11mo ago10 Reviews - J W Williams Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’m incredibly disappointed with Rockwall ISD. Over the past year, our experience has been nothing short of frustrating due to the district’s handling of bullying. It’s astonishing how a school system that should foster learning and growth has instead become a breeding ground for bullying, with no real action taken to stop it.The administration, particularly at J.W. Williams Middle School, has shown a shocking disregard for the well-being of students who fall victim to this behavior. Time and time again, when issues were brought to their attention, we were met with empty promises and dismissals. The district seems more concerned with protecting its image than actually addressing the toxic environment that’s been allowed to flourish. What’s even more troubling is that victims are often the ones punished when they finally stand up for themselves. It’s as if the district is more interested in silencing the issue than solving it. Meanwhile, the bullies walk away without any real consequences, emboldened to continue their behavior. But it doesn’t stop there. The district’s culture is steeped in narrow-mindedness, where if you’re not constantly talking about God, you’re treated as though you’re worth nothing. It’s disturbing to see such exclusionary practices in a public school system, especially in 2024 when diversity of thought and belief should be celebrated, not shunned. There’s so much silly, nonsensical behavior throughout Rockwall ISD that it’s hard to believe this is an institution of learning. From the outdated and irrelevant curriculum to the district’s obsession with rigid, outdated values, it feels like stepping back in time. The staff seems more focused on maintaining control through fear and outdated beliefs than on nurturing students’ growth, critical thinking, and individuality. It’s truly sad to see that in today’s world, a school district can still be so out of touch with the needs of its students and the realities of modern society. I can only hope that future students will see changes that create a safer, more inclusive, and genuinely supportive environment—something that is sorely lacking at Rockwall ISD.Parent Review1y ago8 Reviews - Celia Hays Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHays is a wonderful school with a top notch staff. There is not another school I would want to send my kids to. It is funny that a couple of the posts above mine contradicted. One said there was way too much homework and one that said there was not enough. I have 3 kids at Hays. Each one had homework but not too much. We have had few problems, but as soon as I brought attention to them, they were promptly taken care of. To the poster that said her child was bullied, the staff has sent out multiple things over the years stating that they will not tolerate it. Kids will be kids but if you didn't bring it to the teacher's attention...don't blame it on them. No school is perfect but Hays is as close as you get!!!Parent Review12y ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near 2340 Miranda Ln #DM01TU.

"Traffic is horrible. Too many people and not enough ways out of town. Lights need to be longer and tickets need to be given for those who run red lights and don’t follow turn only lanes especially up by Snuffers trying to get on the highway to go west."

"Rockwall is a great place to live. It is a good sized city, but still has the small town feel without feeling too big. Great restaurants and stores as well, and the downtown is very charming! "

"Normal. Usually busy on weekends beginning on Friday’s at noon. The interstate that runs through the community is increasingly busier each year. However! TxDoT is adding additional lanes in both directions that should alleviate the congestion."

"Downtown Rockwall is so pretty and provides a community aspect like no other town in the area! Everyone is friendly and is a small town feel while also a beach feel due to the water. It’s the best of both worlds!"

"The town really gets behind everyone - true community. There is a lot of pride in the town and every individual home. Great location close enough yet far enough from the city. A true water and boating town too...beautiful!"

"Awesome community where everyone rallies around each other and celebrates successes. Feel very safe, community events in Downtown or by the water...if you grew up on the east coast or west coast, this will be the only area that feels like home in the DFW area!"

"Lots of people own dogs; dog walking is very common here. Fountains in parks actually have three levels—one for adults, one for kids, and one on the ground to fill up a dog dish."

"anything at RGAC pool and golf club is fun and super convenient. They do a good job of mixing up the events offered for kids/families/couples/ladies/men, so you can sort of find your tribe within your neighborhood. Worship at Lake Pointe Church in Sunday’s is a great way to connect with wonderful, loving, genuine, family-friendly people too. "
