The home has its original hardwood floors and tons of natural light. Other features include front-loading washer/dryer, gas range and modern appliances (including dishwasher), breakfast bar/counter, fireplace, ceiling fans throughout, and large covered front porch.

Both the front yard and back yard are partially fenced in for privacy with plenty of room for gardening. There is off street parking for two cars in the back yard. A walk-in basement provides storage space. Lots of trees / shade on the property and the home is surrounded by azalea bushes.

You'll be right next to the Lakewood YMCA, Cocoa Cinnamon, Lakewood Social, Scrap Exchange, Forest Hills Park, and more. Convenient to Duke, NC Central, and downtown Durham.

-- Utilities: Electricity, gas, water, internet/cable are all covered by tenant. Lawn mowing is covered by landlord.

-- Security deposit: $2,380. Note that the lease asks you to address all normal wear and tear (i.e. nail holes in the walls) when you leave and return the house to its original state. Deposit is for any major work needed beyond that that isn't reasonable wear and tear.

-- Available starting July 1, 2025 for a year-long lease (open to tenants staying longer). Move-in date is flexible, but just need to coordinate with the landlord on what works on both ends!

-- I ask all renters to do basic home maintenance tasks throughout the year. I provide a document with instructions and information of repair folks we have used thus far.

There are still thugs and the occassional boarded up house, but overall the neighborhood is filled with old and young, black and white, rich and poor.
