3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs an alum and having a child that is a recent graduate, I can honestly say that the staff has always been held to a certain standard that makes readiness for a student entering into their next phase of life with great ease. They provide college prep courses, sat tutoring, each student has their own guidance counselor, etc. I think this school has been seriously under-rated.Parent Review2y ago - Staff Sargent James J. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMckinley is one of the best schools I could have hoped for when sending my child to n elementary school. The staff is responsive to all my questions as a first time elementary school parent, and not once have i been made to feel silly for asking questions i'm certain they have heard a million times. they are currently building a brand new campus for the school which is absolutely exciting! the school offers an innovative dual language program to kindergartners that will follow them through their primary years. My daughter, currently in Kindergarten has spanish 3-5 days a week. She learns her core curriculum in spanish and in english. Initially program officials had to fight to get this program funding but now that it is in the second year nearly third, I am hopeful they will see this amazing and innovative idea through middle school and all the way through high school. My kindergartner is truly becoming bilingual and what's better, she is speaking with the family bilingually and teaching us her new found love of reading and speaking in two languages. McKinley is an amazing school! Do not let the "no gym" fool you, they have plenty of running around and physical activity!Parent Review9y ago - Rumney Marsh Academy

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average1 star just for the teachers I have dealt with I feel so bad for them. This school is out of control and clearly the principal has no idea on how to deal with it.My children are students here and im so disappointed,Kids vaping in the bathrooms and assaulting each other physically and emotionally the teachers are constantly being disrupted. One of my kids is also part of an ongoing problem with her behavior but the environment does not help! Elizabeth Daily Ortega the principal is never available to discuss issues concerning the school specifically when I have requested her presence.Maybe we the Hispanic parents are just not important enough for her presence. The problem here is the lack of awareness this women has on what really goes on in her building no wonder their ranked one of the worst in the district and let’s not talk about the low percentages across the educational board for this school. I reached out to the super intendant hopefully he gets back to me.Parent Review1y ago - Garfield Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVery horrible school. Students are very disrespectful and do some crazy things like fighting, smoking, and drugs. Awful education my daughter used to be straight A student especially in math and when she came to this school, her grades in math dropped. When I asked her why she said that her teacher doesn’t teacher very well and when she has a question and she asks her teacher he replies with, “ oh don’t worry you will understand it later” like what kind of education system is this! If kids have a question you should help them understand not just say something to get them out of your way! I thought it was just with my daughter though but when she asked her classmates they agreed with her that they also don’t understand very much and they also agreed that it was the teacher who didn’t teacher them right and that they had better teachers before in elementary school that helped them get better grades. I have never see anything like this until I came to this school. Also in the beginning of the year my daughter brought a $100 coat to school and put it in her locker then when she went to go get it at the end of the day it wasn’t there. When she told the main office the told her that they will talk to people who she thought might have taken it but they never did and from then she never saw that coat again and became devastated. Since my daughter came to this school she got depression for a couple months because of everything and the students be very rude and disrespectful! Thank god she is doing better now and I have gotten her a tutor to teach her the things that her teacher failed to do and I have moved her to a different school and I will never allow any more of my children to ever go there and suffer the same things my daughter did. Overall worst school I have ever seen in my whole life!Parent Review1y ago - Susan B. Anthony Middle School
