1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI do not recommend parents sending their children’s to this school these teachers allow fighting bullying in their classroom. The assistant principal does not do anything when parents go up there and tell them what is going on they are lazy and my oldest daughter goes their and she has been telling her counselor, her teachers and the assistant principal about different student using a book as a weapon to hit my oldest daughter and my oldest daughter has been a bully ever since last year in the sixth grade. I had been going up there done with it all since last year I went to Gresham Barlow school district and they don’t wanna deal with it. They do not want to confront the problem in the issue of that school. An assistant principal wants to blame my oldest daughter for everything, and my oldest daughter doesn’t mess with nobody at school.Parent Review1y ago7 Reviews - Gresham High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe test scores say it all as far as I'm concerned. I'm a believer in public schools and went to Reynold's High School and it's sad to see the schools that I've known, attended, competed for and against, and now have seen my kids graduate from become such massive failures. Obviously, funding is not the issue and there's something very unfortunate going on: Our kids are being funneled through a system that seems to be broken, with little regard to ensuring that at each grade level the students have a basic grasp of what they need to know before moving on to the next grade. It's infuriating to me that the superintendents and administrators continue collecting their pay when it's hard to imagine that the state of the education our kids receive would be worse if they weren't there at all.It isn't hard to imagine our kids being overwhelmed and depressed when they strike out in the world to live out their dreams only to find that most companies see poorly written emails and difficulty communicating as a liability. I understand that saying anything negative about educators has somehow become a taboo subject, but I think our kids matter more than us risking the possibility that we may hurt someone's feelings. One specific thing I would add, is that I tried many times to support the projects, assignments, etc. by working with my kids. In many cases, I had a hard time understanding the point of a particular assignment or activity. When they actually had parent/teacher conferences (as rare and irregular as they were), asking if there might be description of the lesson's intent, or even access to an online lesson plan, the bewildered look made it clear that they didn't understand what their job was. Either that or my perception of what they should be doing is way off.I noticed homework was almost non-existent, with the students finishing it at school. I remember when I was going to school, I had homework every night starting on the first day. Definitely math would have at least an hours-worth of homework, and there was always a book to read followed by the inevitable report, at least once per quarter. That would be another hour or so. From my view, homework isn't given out anymore. I will end on a positive note. I will say that I felt that the CAL program associated with Gresham-Barlow was impressive. I hope that more folks begin to demand better because our kids' futures depend on their education.Parent Review1w ago8 Reviews - Hollydale Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI only let my daughter attend this school for one year before switching her. We had the worst experience. The teachers (kindergarten) have no awareness for age appropriate discipline or realistic expectations for them. On day 3 of kindergarten I found a paper in her backpack where her teacher made her write lines saying "I will listen to the teacher". She didn't even know how to write letters properly yet. There's zero help from the school counselor, I asked about my child maybe checking in with the counselor once a week and they said all her spots were full. So I guess she only helps some students? A lot of the kids here obviously come from difficult environments because their influence on my child was terrible. Teaching her curse words, showing their privates to each other. Be wary when sending your kids hereParent Review10mo ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near 2260 SW 8th Dr #1.

"Close in location. Neighborhood not very cohesive. Better crime rate than Rockwood or downtown Gresham."

"Lived here about five years. Not much neighborhood cohesiveness. Almost everyone her is older and retired or planning on staying a year or two. Infrastructure is not great. Internet is HORRIBLE. Traffic lights aren’t times properly. "

"Not at all a “dog” neighborhood. A few neighbors maintain neat and tidy yards and homes. Many have a large amount of debris extending into the sidewalk. A lot of trash and broken glass. Some houses don’t even have the sidewalk going by there property. Clearly a neighborhood in decline. Very poorly rated local schools. "

"The neighborhood is not particularly clean , and often has a lot of Debris and broken glass on the sidewalks making it difficult to walk dogs. Not all f the streets have sidewalks and The crime rate is fairly high in Hollybrook. It’s actually pretty rare to see anyone walking a dog in this neighborhood."

"Seems a lot nicer. Small town feeling. Love the Spring water trail. Quiet on the most part. Just a lot of speeders. "

"I work close so less than 5 minutes commute usually. If for some reason I have to go to Portland, it is usually about 30-45 minutes depending on route and time of day"

"This neighborhood has gone down hill a lot. I’ve lived here off and on for 12-13 years. I’m ready to move out of here. Neighbors are sketchy, and cops are almost always in the neighborhood , or next to it"
