8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTwo of our children recently "graduated" from Chatsworth Avenue School and we have another child entering third grade. Our experience at Chatsworth has been overwhelmingly positive and exactly what we were looking for - an elementary school that takes a whole child perspective, that balances instilling a love of learning, critical thinking and inquiry with character building and social emotional development. Chatsworth has an extremely involved parent community and offers amazing supplemental programs during the school day (author visits, outdoor gardening for hands on exploring and science instruction, art appreciation, partnerships with Sheldrake Nature center, etc.) Chatsworth is not a pressure cooker environment. However, we have been fortunate that all of our teachers have been extremely effective, intelligent, creative and nurturing. Of course we have heard of a few teachers that parents are dissatisfied with their child's experience, but that is by and large the exception. In short we feel our children have received an excellent education at Chatsworth Avenue School and are entering middle school well prepared AND enthusiastic about learning and the community they live in.Parent Review2y ago - Hommocks School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI currently go to this school, I moved from Mount Vernon. The school is large, spacious, and nice. If you plan on moving when you're in 7th or 8th it's hard because everybody has their own clicks. I have seen homophobia and racism but that's to be expected in every school in Westchester. (From a person of color myself) I average around 90s in all my classes and I would say that if you don't come at 6th grade you will NOT be granted as much opportunity. Some teachers are fun and engaging others are tough but otherwise nice. Would probably recommend.Student Review2mo ago - Mamaroneck High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had 2 children so far at Mamaroneck High School with different personalities and interests. Both have been very happy in the school and offered the capacity to explore their passion in different areas (music and science). My third one, coming soon in the program will probably be more into sports… My point is that this is a great school that offer great opportunities to students with different passions and skills. My kids were very well supported by their counselor and both joined their dream schools. I can only say good things about MHS.Other Review10mo ago - Murray Avenue School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is the best school in Larchmont. It's recently seen a ratings dip here from 10 to 7 due to one outlier metric, diversity. The new principal is 100% dedicated to diversity and ensures an inclusive environment that considers all points of view. The kids are not suffering in this regard contrary to this finding which is likely based on almost no data. The teachers have been a mix in terms of how good they are at teaching today, historically, and some of the best ones were moved to HMX, but the team there now seems as strong as ever, with some amazing teachers - and indeed the Specials (music, art, library, PE), are one of the things that makes Murray itself special and an overall great program for your K-5.Parent Review2y ago - Check out schools near 225 Larchmont Ave.

"Larchmont is a great community with good school system. Too many A trope personalities unfortunately but that is what you get in NY area and Westchester. The farmers market is a key element to a nice community and the restaurants generally are very good. "
