4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is in the 8th grade at WHA. This is his second year there and he really enjoys it. He likes the block schedule as it gives him more time to focus on one class. His teachers typically give time in class to complete homework which I love because I feel that after school time/extra curricular activities are vitally important to a child’s development. The fact that he doesn’t have to stress over homework at the end of the day has been amazing. I like that they wear uniforms. Not everyone can afford the nicest clothes and this helps everyone feel like they fit in. His teachers have been amazing, offering extra support when he needs it. Principal Salazar is such a kind woman. You can tell that she really cares about the students. Mrs Harris and Randall help keep the school safe and help the students with their emotions. The school has a wonderful special education program as well. I have been very happy with WHA.Parent Review2mo ago - Taft Charter High

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school seems more concerned with promoting the kids who are doing well than with stopping the rampant bullying present. Children with learning differences are approached in a textbook / checklist manner and are not regarded as individuals.Parent Review2y ago - Woodlake Elementary Community Charter School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe amount of opportunities this school presents to the students are incredible. They have Mindfulness classes, Yoga, Girls on the Run, Spanish, Fishbowl, Gardening, YMCA, Got Game, Parker Anderson Classes, and LA’s Best programs. Several are free, some you pay to be in. Both of my kids are above grade level for their reading and math, the school has a strong focus on community and treating others with kindness. Anytime my children had an issue, their teachers were easy to contact and a resolution took place where students learned about respectful boundaries and communication that will help them in the future. The principal is on top of protecting the students and was the first one out of all the other close by Elementary schools to provide information on how to handle the stressful world events. I had to forward the links and information to my friends at other schools because they were not given the resources. The school psychologist is committed to finding solutions and helping all the kids with their emotional regulation. The school is highly family oriented and has community building events often. Can’t say enough good things about our experience.Parent Review2mo ago - Check out schools near 22450 Miranda St.
