I can't imagine anyone ever saying anything negative about this school. My adult children and some of my grandchildren have attended this school. I have lived in many different states and have encountered several different school systems. Ms. Jones and all of her staff truly love these children. In my opinion, it is the best school that I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. If you think I'm exaggerating, go for a visit. The perfection starts in the office and it doesn't stop there.

I've been going to this school since 7th grade. If you are a white straight cis christian with mostly right winged beliefs and slight bigotry towards minorities, this school is perfect for you! The middle school was much worse than the high school, but I hear a gross amount of racial slurs from kids of all ages (elementary to high school) and many teachers show their bias constantly. I've had multiple teachers get upset for saying God's name in vain, and in the middle school the health teacher made us watch religious movies in class. The high school never made an announcement during black history month, when kids were planning a walkout they blocked all the doors, and recently they've been taking even more funding and time away from many arts and sports. it's not the school's fault that they have lack of funding, but there are plenty of things they CAN prevent that they don't. Allowing kids to walk around these halls with swastikas and neo nazi symbols drawn on their body with minor repercussions makes these halls a toxic and violent environment. and you wonder 60% of these students are constantly vaping in the bathrooms.

Bullying is a big issue at NHMS and not handled appropriately in the school. There is a NO BULLYING policy, but the Administrators and staff downplay the emotional damage caused by bullying and even punish the person being bullied if they stick up for themselves. They offer zero help and have no compassion for person bullied. They brush a lot of things under the rug and don't properly report as they should. School board won't respond to questions or concerns. You are basically ignored or told what you want to hear if you address something with the Principal or Superintendent. I would not recommend this school to anyone.
