3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter came from Longview in the middle of her 1st grade year. Upon the transition, she grew more confident in her school work and has created many great friends thus far. When entering into her 2nd grade year, I was so happy to see all of the teachers and staff greeting her and I to know her by first name! You don't get that type of personalization in students learning at the larger schools in the area. I am so happy we made the switch!Parent Review1y ago - Castle Rock High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool is not welcoming and makes minority students feel very unsafe. In one instance a student reported another with a gun on the bus and since the cameras on the bus we angled so the student with the gun was not visible the reporter was called a liar and banned from riding the bus. Another student was kicked at an assembly and called a lesbian slur and principal only offered to call home. Students parents contacted police and police reported that the school does not report an alarming number of reportable offenses. On several other instances students have been harassed, called slurs, assaulted, had things thrown at them, and generally made to feel unsafe and administration has done little to nothing to fix the issues.Student Review3mo ago - Castle Rock Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUm...I am not sure who posted that the WASL scores were below average....But for 2010, even on this website, it shows how for 7th grade the scores are at or above what the state of Washington averaged for Reading, Writing and Math. As far as writing a letter for math, yes, as a parent I also wrote one. It allowed me the opportunity to explain to my child's teacher a little bit about my child's previous math background, my child's interests, and a peek into home life issues that may effect learning. I appreciated the opportunity to write this "math" letter. I also have all phone calls and emails returned, and feel like the principal does care. I actually feel that most of the staff at the school is easy to work with and cares for the learning of the students. Just wanted to share my opinion as the last writer sounds really negative.Parent Review13y ago - Check out schools near 223 Horseshoe Bend Est.
