The Carleton Apartments are warm and welcoming. Each apartment is spacious and well-cared for with large windows in the living room, spacious bedrooms with large closets, up-to-date bathrooms with bathtubs, plenty of cabinet space in the kitchen and a large closet in the entryway. There are additional storage spaces in the laundry room for each unit, free of charge. There is also a designated bike room with easy access to the street so you don't have to store your bike in your apartment.

We are located LITERALLY in the heart of Berkeley in a safe neighborhood. We are within walking distance to EVERYTHING: the University, Whole Foods, Berkeley Bowl, Ashby and Downtown Berkeley Barts, and many bus stations. There is also easy access to the 13, 24 and 580 highways. EASY COMMUTE - SHORT WALK TO ASHBY BART AND DOWNTOWN BERKELEY BART.

People living here create a friendly but particularly respectful environment. We have 24 units total, with an eclectic mix of people from all backgrounds (family friendly). Most residents choose to live here for a long time. We share a little library and take-it-or-leave-it downstairs in the shared laundry room as well. We have a user-friendly app called Buildium for communication needs, paying rent and even applying online to rent each unit!

These prices are far below market rate and are rent controlled. Thus, come post-Covid, these prices will be unbeatable!

"I lived in this neighborhood for 3 years. Since it's just south of the UC Berkeley campus, there is a lot of foot traffic and noise when school is in session. Mostly students live in this neighborhood but there are a ton of homeless people lying on the sidewalks and they can get pretty aggressive. Plenty of cheap restaurants catering to students as well."

"Berkeley has high property taxes with the outcome of good public services and excellent schools. This part of south Berkeley is bicycle friendly with great grocery stores (perhaps the best options in the State!) plus neighbors who walk and know each other. A very enjoyable & diverse neighborhood."

"A perfect 10-15 minute walk to the Cal Campus or the upscale, but delicious Elmwood area. Animal friendly neighborhood, with a fairly strong neighborhood association. The Julia Morgan Theater and Benvenue Public Library as well as excellent schools are just some of the treasures of this area."
