7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCHS has the feel of a small school trying to be big. There are many great individuals employed there that sincerely have your child's best interest at heart, but there are so many times when that "overall best in Texas exemplary campus status" takes precedence over the individual needs of the student, and those who do not excel in band or its many subdivisions, or football, get shuffled to the back; even those involved in a not so popular sports team or activity. Parent involvement is superior to any that I've ever seen, however, even at an elementary level, it seems as though projects completed by parents are expected. Students who are made to actually work on their own and turn in their own works are often looked over in favor of the polished, professional, and oh-so-obviously-done-the-parent submissions. Many students graduate and then, upon attending college or obtaining a full time job (courtesy of a word from the band director, a favorite celebrity in the community), fall flat on their faces because they haven't a clue how to stand on their own two feet and be made accountable. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe major problem with this school, is the fact that no matter what is going on the students have school leaders( principal & vice principal) that are more judgemental than helpful..They are very good at pointing fingers and making assumptions. Also they do not make the students who are average or seem as if they don't come from a local prominent family . And the Man in which these easily manipulated adolescent boys go to is teaching them to be disrespectful and that he has the right to talk to them anyway he feels fit! And when the go to the guidance counselor for support, shes told to remember her place and who she's talking to! All this taking place in front of the male student!
