7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have two children enrolled at the school and will have a third child entering in the next year or two. We've had a positive experience overall and believe our kids' academic needs are being met. We particularly appreciate the more traditional education provided in the standard educational program. For example, our child was still taught cursive handwriting, which is no longer required (and has been de-emphasized) in the Washington state curriculum in many districts. The principal is highly involved and communicative with parents, actively working to address challenges facing the school. We've seen noticeable overall improvement under her leadership. The administrative staff is very friendly—we're impressed that they know all the children's names and even recognize their parents. The WATCH D.O.G.S. program (Dads of Great Students) for fathers is also a nice touch that promotes positive male role models.School, parent, and teacher involvement and communication are strong. Most teachers provide weekly updates on lessons and suggest activities to support further learning at home.We also have a child in the Montessori program at the school. We appreciate the alternative educational style offered while still maintaining standards and testing to ensure a balanced education.Parent Review4mo ago14 Reviews - Monroe High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience at hidden river is possibly the worst experience we've ever had. My daughter came home bullied very often and when she finally stood up for herself she was the one having reports written up about her. But the other students who were coming after her had little to no consequences. I also had a nonverbal autistic daughter here. She was constantly coming home with bruises above the knees. At one point we even took her to Seattle children’s because she had bruises between her thighs that we ruled out from the after school care program. When we asked for samples of her modified work the school failed to produce it. When we asked about her coteachers that were suppose to be in classes we were met with deer in head light looks. She was left at the back of the classroom with her speech device and getting physically abused by her para that did quit and the bruises disappeared from my daughter after she left. Our daughter has severe developmental delays putting her at the equivalent of a toddler, but yet she was forced into gen Ed classes (but we would totally put a preschool age child in a normal middle school class right?) we requested that she be moved to a school with an SLC class room multiple times and they wouldn't even consider it until we hired an advocate. They still refused stating they didn't have the staffing for it, but has no problem putting a child in my classroom when we were understaffed and over cap in a different school in the district. Mos tot my coworkers also said they removed their children from this school as well because of the way they handled bullying and racism. Something to be said when your own school district employees can't even trust the school with their kids.Parent Review8mo ago8 Reviews - Check out schools near 22011 E Lost Lake Rd #2.

"Rural - you like or you don’t. There are no sidewalks so safety is an issue. Because it’s rural a dog that leaves the yard away from there master could easily come upon a coyote or get in trouble in a cattle owners field. People also put out rat poison (chickens attract them). Your dog must be leashed and on a fenced property. "

"Too many city people moving out here to be in the country and then try to get rid of the farms and animals and rural feel to make it like the city they just left. Leave rural areas alone if you move or stay in the city. "
