Description

This 2-story townhouse is part of a duplex on a very quiet, lovely street in Beacon. My husband and I live in the attached home, and we're seeking tenants starting March 15 (or sooner).

The location is ideal for nature lovers and walkers:
Short walk to the Mt. Beacon trailhead
About a 12-minute walk to Main Street
30-minute walk or 7-minute drive to the Beacon Metro-North station

The townhouse includes a heated sunroom porch with views of Mt. Beacon, a large kitchen, and two bedrooms plus a full bathroom upstairs. We offer shared laundry and some basement storage, accessible via an interior door off the kitchen. Street parking is available.

There is a large backyard, and we can designate both shared garden space and a more private outdoor area for you. We're planning to add a fence and/or pergola soon for additional privacy. Bonus: fresh eggs included from our small flock of backyard chickens.

We've lived in the home since 2019 and purchased the property in December 2025. Since then, we've made several updates, including:
Fresh paint throughout the apartment
New carpet going into the heated sunroom
New lighting fixtures in the living room (white lantern will be replaced)
New kitchen shelving
New rechargeable lights installed in all closets
New detachable Moen shower head

Please note: photos of the second floor are from the original listing and don't yet reflect the updates we've made.

We require a $40 credit check and last 3 months of bank statements to verify income. Showings will begin February 23.

I am an herbalist and my husband works in film and television. We have 2 cats, enjoy traveling, reading, and time in nature.

We are hoping to find the right tenants to share our space with. If this sounds like a good fit, feel free to reach out and tell us a little about yourself!

Updated to add: No Dogs policy is firm and non-negotiable. (Our chickens free range and have been known to escape their run, so this is best for us.)

  • Emorrisjones
"There are lots of hiking trails and there are several parks that welcome dogs. This is a very dog-friendly community."
  • Trulia User
"There are many friendly dogs and dog owners here, and there are dog-friendly parks and trails within a few minutes' drive. People who let uncontrolled dogs roam off-leash, however, are not popular. "
  • Jonathon K.
"Commutes aren’t bad. There’s a lot of highway access to the area. It’s also easy to stay in town for non-job needs like shopping and restaurants. "
  • Jonathon K.
"Farmers market every weekend. Busy downtown area with shopping and restaurants. Lots of local artists’ shops. "
  • Gessyc2001
"there are a lot of people walking their dogs in beacon. there is even a dog park for them. they pick up after their dogs. I forgot to mention the dog bakery"

"this is a great community. main has lots of shops, mainly small businesses in beacon. the metro north is very accessible. schools are great and there's always the beacon pool for those hot summer days. there's a great waterfront and trail for leisure activities. mount Beacon for hiking."
  • Lauren M.
"It’s very walkable to get all my basic needs. Although some things are overpriced in the shops on Main Street, I like that I don’t have to go far for a pharmacy, bank, groceries, print shop, ups store or a hardware store. "
  • Laura G.
"Beacon is great and a lovely place to live. Would highly recommend for families and starter homes. So much to do! "
  • Swnichelle
"Family friendly, great schools, convenient to shopping and major highways, plenty of parks and a ton of events throughout Hudson Valley year round. "
  • Veterancorpsman
"It’s a great, family friendly city. The schools are great and the community is a great place to raise kids. "
  • Heatherannevogt
"I drive about 35 minutes to work. There is often a lot of traffic on Rt 9d as there is only one lane and it backs up when the train let's out and also when there is construction on the Newburgh Beacon bridge which is apparently quite often. Beacon is growing and they need to expand on the infrastructure of roads to accommodate the mass influx of people or it will be all too city like before we know it. "
  • Aleida A.
"Good food, easy to walk city, dogs and parks, community events and safe neighborhoods. Easy drive to city, close to train, hiking, Hudson River views. Easy commute location. "
  • Veterancorpsman
"It’s great. Hop on the metro-north or on Rt 84 to get where you’re going quickly. This is a great commuter town."
  • Zooey A.
"It’s great, I love it here, really good place, lots of good food and walking is nice. Great bars. Great food"
  • Alicia A.
"There is always something happening on Main Street. It’s super cute and lots of privately owned little restaurants. There is a farmers market every Sunday no matter the time of year. "
  • Roni J.
"Very close to Main St...I can walk anywhere for anything from great restaurants to grocery shopping to the post office. Nice small town feel here. "
  • Vandermerwede
"Some great walks down to Dennings Point and along waterfront. There are places your dog could go into the water for a swim."
  • Alicia A.
"The schools are always doing something. There is usually a Halloween event at JVF and the principal reads out loud to kids each year."
  • Aleida A.
"Fun to be around, restaurants and bars, Main Street, the Hudson River, beer, the train, close to highway, fun people, good vibes "
  • Swnichelle

  • CTPassat
"1) Walk <5 minutes to catch free bus to metro north station to catch an Express train to GCT; 2)walk 20 minutes to metro north station with numerous trains to GCT; or 3)drive 20 minutes to bus terminal with free parking to catch an express bus to Manhattan "

  • Krisrigney2
"Lots of dogs here. Most people take good care of them - you always see people out walking them, and most clean up after them. There is a nice dog park in town, and several good vets close by. "
  • Krisrigney2
"I haven’t used the free bus yet, but everyone seems to like it. Downtown Beacon is within walking distance (with some hills). Easy to get to Manhattan on the train, or up to Poughkeepsie."
  • Lenora P.
"This is why I moved here from the city. Families, young people who love going to Main Street for shopping and supporting the community businesses, and seniors who are always ready to give you the history of Beacon."
  • Q Speed Racer
"Quiet. Friendly. Area is great. Lots of restaurants and things to do. There is a yearly car show with a great turn out. We are right near I-84 and taconic to get anywhere easily. Neighboring towns and cities have a lot to do for night life"
  • Trulia User
"Beacon has become over crowded .. rents are too high even NYC now has cheaper rents .. you can’t go anywhere any longer that’s quiet . Schools are a mess , and main st is packed with tourists with ill manners on the weekends . New buildings have gone up all over the place for the past 10 years so there is never a quiet day without construction going on somewhere . Crowded parks and the mountain is now an attraction that is over run with city people with their stupid phones and garbage. "
  • Pringle.simone
"Great neighborhood, great schools and close to train station which makes the commute to the city manageable."
  • Marquis T.
"Very nice neighborhood good scenery for long walk to get fresh air all of the newbies are friendly for the most part and the community keeps the neighborhood nice and clean and safe "
  • Caroline P.
"to me newburgh has a lot of historical events and streets and store which makes it to me very unique "
  • Melanie S.
"Street fairs. The strawberry fair. They have the car shows as well. The old classic cars too. Beacon marathon "
  • Hank O.
"Great place to live. Great place to work. Great place to play. Great place to recreate. Hike. Bike. Kayak. "
