"I drive 25 minutes to work. It’s a beautiful drive with rolling hills and no traffic. Small town living. "
  • Tyler B.
"The is just a really good place to live if you have kids and want to live in a city with out all the drama of a big city "
  • Deb D.
"if you live within city limits that schools are within walking distance especially for the older kids. most the neighborhoods in Ione are quiet. "
  • Robin Cuddy Bell
"I’ve lived in Pine Grove and Jackson top of Clinton rd for 29 years. People just help ppl. Some of us may be very fortunate, others are not. Just pay it forward no matter where you live. Food, Clothing, shoes, clothes for an entire family down the street and there is no need to wait for a holiday to send a box with a turkey, and all, yes all that is needed to put out a feast. We have not walked in the shoes of others to understand it....but watch over all of those you live near and help make others children strong in spirit and a bunch of love. They will be safe and inspired by so many things friends, family and others will help provide. Just normal neighbors paying it forward. Your heart grows bigger to see how humbled and so full of love just because you went across the way to help fix a vehicle, a bike.....anything! And please give whatever time energy books or help to keep our schools healthy and thriving"

"I’ve owned homes in Pine Grove and Jackson for 29 years. Living anywhere this long you will know those you invite to sit at your table. All I’ve ever asked is “Pay it forward” food, clothing, a cord of wood, books etc. to any neighbor, stranger or a small family you can help with funds so that they have smiles as big as any other. Sport programs, “ALWAYS” need help or sponsee a few children so that they too can be on a team sport. The schools will help you keep it all anonymous. And never forget that Turkey box with all the fixings from time to time. Don’t wait for a holiday.... "

"This is a great town the police are sweet when my fiance passed away when I lived in apt 14 they brought me roses. "
  • Bill45shar46
"I have been here for 6-1/2 years & have grown to love the foothills. We have lots of birds & I keep bird baths filled & enjoy watching them drink & bathe. One morning there were five red headed woodpeckers sitting around one of the bird baths. It looked like mom & dad were teaching them how to bathe. A rare sight to see so many at once! I enjoy the neighbors & my daughter lives about a mile away with her family. "
  • Rinkgirl1
"This is the best neighborhood in California, as far as I’m concerned. It’s safe, friendly, walkable, and fun. Everyone is welcomed and we have parades for everything you can think of. Very festive, patriotic small town. And...we even have a castle!!"
  • Mouerlabs
"Great sense of community here. Small town with extremely low crime and great golf course. Good local grocery store and pharmacy. "
  • Katie P.
"Quite neighborhood with a nice community, has weekly events at the clubhouse and withing the neighborhood."
  • kaagee
"Traffic is terrible, especially in the summer months. Don't even think about walking or ridding your bike on the road! Keep your doors locked and insure your stuff! The rating given was honest and I would have given a lower rating if that were possable. Drive around the area, the village is a slum."
