To be frank, this school really sucks. I left a few years back due to extreme bullying that only a select few seemed to care about. This school is filled with toxicity, and it never gets handled properly. I had dealt with it for about 9 years before I finally decided enough is enough and left. I had reported it time and time again and given the response that students will be talked to. The issue is that it isn't just me, it's other students too. On top of that, the school is so behind on academics. Schools nearby are learning stuff that students don't learn until way later, leaving them struggling when they go off to college. There aren't nearly enough resources for those who need extra help with academics, and something needs to change. Along with that, there's hardly any sports. All DW has are basketball and volleyball, any others they have to co-op with other schools with. The only upside to this school is that there are some really caring teachers who made my experience bearable.

DW has small class sizes so the children are able to get the attention they need. The administration is always looking for new ways to engage the children and help them learn. There is an onsite social worker as well as an onsite resource officer. For a small school they offer many big things. I feel as though the children get to experience at private school experience at a public school.

All 4 of my kids graduated from this school district and have done well with their education. My oldest went to U of I and has been working as an electrical engineer since he graduated. My second has his degree in computer science and is working in that field now. My third is attending EIU in graphic design and is doing great. My youngest is attending University of Kentucky in business and is also doing great there. They had small class sizes and were able to participate in many extra curricular activities. They had so many opportunities to learn in different ways that wouldn't be available at a bigger school. I also felt like I had a voice in my children's education. It was easy to have a conversation with the administration.
