4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs with all schools there are the positives & negatives. MMS has a really good after-school sports program that allows all kids to try-out & play sports. We loved that!! Our biggest issue with the school is the discipline problems in the classroom environment, kids lack of respect for staff/other students & administrative reluctance to punish for bad behavior, & finally, teachers need to self-evaluate & work a bit harder to challenge kids in the classroom, especially if they are in "advanced" classes.Parent Review5y ago - Marana High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDesert Winds really cares about their students. They always go the extra mile to help where they can. I have not had a negative interaction with anyone there. They encourage parent involvement, feedback and really show a "can do" attitude. I pulled my children from another MUSD school that was much more convenient for them to attend, and now commute to Desert Winds which is at least a 15 minute drive for me. I can't say enough positive things about this school.Parent Review9y ago - A. C. E.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a school for kids who are being punished within the Marana School District. Any kid referred here has already been singled out by their high school's administrators who have probably already called ahead to "warn" ACE about the student, so they really can't get a fair shot. The staff treats the kids like criminals, so that's how the kids act and that's how they end up feeling about themselves. There are several free charter schools or online schools in the area where kids are treated with respect that are much better choices. A.C.E. staff treats kids like the expect them to fail, so they often end up doing just that. Don't ever send your kid here, go with a charter school and put all the drama and administration incompetence behind you!Parent Review10y ago - Marana Distance Learning

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe travel so kids had no choice to be enrolled, I think the kids get a better education, communication is key, but if things go astray teacher will attempt. To get in contract with student. They seem to be making improvements, when we started ours kids were instructed to do apprpxmately an hour per course per day, they now show on the sigh on whether they have. Late items etc, big improvement for parents, we get weekly updates for our kids in grades and time completed in the past week.Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 2160 N Camino Del Sapo.

"private pool, great roads, quiet. great place to walk with kids. however, I think we should be allowed to walk our dogs on a leash, but they don't allow you to walk them at all."
- Maureen C.
- 9y ago
"I used to live here. It is a safe area much quieter than the city with a gorgeous night sky. Mountain views in all directions."
- Carol G.
- 9y ago
"Magnificent mountain views and adjacent to Tucson Mountain Park set off peaceful and friendly neighborhood. Older 55+ community of well-kept manufactured homes is at bottom of hill, with semi-custom site-built homes in non-restricted newer section in foothills. Both have clubhouses, community pools & spas. "
- Janet e. d.
- 9y ago
"Community involvement is optional, but there are tons of opportunities if you are interested! At the clubhouse there is a pool, spa, tennis court, basketball court, and a bocce ball court. There is often live music at the clubhouse on the weekends, and there are also book clubs, tea groups, hiking groups, artist clubs, and more. In addition, there are ample hiking trails in the Tucson Mountain Park, which is immediately adjacent to the neighborhood. Most homes are literally steps away from hiking trails. The community is also extremely walker and dog friendly. This is a great place to live!"

"This is an excellent place to live - very well designed and well kept. The HOA is a good one. The only negative is that it's over 8 miles to the nearest grocery store and about 12 miles to Safeway and Fry's. The area has a large population, but there is no plan to open a shopping center with a full size grocery store. There several adequate restaurants within 3 miles."

"i live in this area now. My only complaint is that the HOA is not active enough in keeping pool area clear of trespassers leading to an uninviting pool area. Most of the trespassers have children and I do not feel that the pool is sterile. Posted rules do not stress showering prior to pool entry and restroom use a priority. Parking is good if you only have one vehicle. Depending on your unit's location overflow parking is ok as long as you have nothing to carry."
