“Vacant” that’s what was listed under my math teachers name it wasn’t until I showed up to the classroom that I was notified that vacant means “position not filled” they had the ISS instructor teach us for a few months & then they cramped all of us into a classroom of 40 plus students with a real math teacher. I had a total of 20 unexcused absences & I was still promoted to high school they just passed me along. Now that I am a parent I’ve worked hard to move out of that ZIP Code to give my child a better chance at an education she goes to a school where teachers have masters degrees, 10yrs+ experience teaching.

The teachers and staff at Hickory Grove Elementary has been instrumental in my children's academic success. They have been very supportive and creative when it comes to helping my autistic son learn the material. My husband and I are thankful for all their hard work and dedication to improving the lives of our children.

I am deeply disappointed with the experience we've had at this school. First and foremost, the environment is not safe—there is a clear lack of accountability and attention to student well-being. Staff members are consistently rude and unprofessional, often dismissive when concerns are raised. What is most alarming is the school's disregard for 504 plans. Despite the legal requirement to accommodate students with disabilities, the administration fails to follow through or even acknowledge the support structures that should be in place. This neglect is not only unethical but also a violation of federal education law.
