3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a former teacher of the school, I have noticed multiple inconsistencies with the way this school is run. I do not think the District as a whole is great for anyone. Many kids have been bullied by not only the students but other teachers as well. The school, starting at the head, provides a false idea of students come first, when in actuality students are only on the back burner. Students have been passed along from grade to grade due to either parent disagreeing with summer school or their student being retained. Special Education is not taken seriously inside the school. The principal has overridden the Special Education teacher due to not having the appropriate resources and not wanting the data to be recorded. Many general teachers will not follow the IEP in place and will go against the teacher in the determent of the student. The principals play on the ignorance of the parents by providing them with false information regarding their child. This school does not have a self-contained class but rather provides an "extended resource" classroom that does not require an extra teacher. This school and district are waiting for a lawsuit to happen. Students are not receiving the proper resources due to the principal not wanting to provide the necessary material. The teachers within the school gossip a lot and there are a lot of cliques that will turn on others in a heartbeat. Students have noticed the favoritism between the principal and other students along with parents.Teacher Review9mo ago - Lake City High School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend this school for anything. The principal does not care whatsoever about the students. She is very vindictive and will lie to a teacher to get her way. Special education here is a joke. They cannot keep a Special Education teacher at all. Mrs. Singletary does not care about the students, especially if they are in Special Education. She will lie on an IEP to benefit the teacher rather than the student. Some of the teachers are nice, however, the students are not learning anything within the classroom. Students are graduating 2nd-grade and being on a Kindergarten level due to the lack of teaching going on within the classroom. The Special Education classroom is very unclean as the principal does not prioritize this classroom and will not buy new materials. This school is all about the image on the outside rather than focusing on the student's needs. New teachers can feel unwanted by both the principal and many of the teachers if the new teacher did not fit into their clique. They have teachers that are uncertified teaching both general education and special education. Do not work here or put your child in this school. There is a better school.Teacher Review9mo ago - Ronald E. McNair Junior High

"It's a quiet nieghborhood most of the time. Sometimes u here gun shots and my kids have found bullets in the grass outside. Would not feel safe walking in this neighborhood or this city at night. I've been back home 2 months and 2 bodies have been found and one person is currently missing. Don't plan on being here another 6 months, hopefully. "
