3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI rated Kaimuki HS 4 stars because every school always has room for improvement. Kaimuki has a drastically dropped in enrollment, therefore, each student gets more attention, which is a great thing! The class sizes are smaller, yet the campus is spacious. Kaimuki offers that one-on-one learning due to the student to teacher ratio. Some teachers will make calls to let you know your child's whereabouts or concerns, some will not, which is common now days, so it's imperative you keep up with your child's wellbeing, and every other item going on with them. Kaimuki is listed with low scores but that's not the case with the student's education level. The low scores are caused mainly by Kaimuki HS being the top school with the highest amount of ESL Students. Kaimuki is currently restructuring their curriculum, and the Board of Education hopes to reflect actual education level scores. Kaimuki has always been extremely talented in all sports, winning many Championships in their division. Kaimuki has an amazing Theatre Program who performs plays throughout the year for both the school and the Public. I do not regret pulling my son out of a private school to attend Kaimuki, he has built relationships and has gained humbling characteristics that isn't taught in the classroom. Kaimuki students are very humble, extremely kind and takes very good care of each other.Parent Review1y ago6 Reviews - President Thomas Jefferson Elementary School

"Waikiki gives you access to a lot of great shopping & restaurants. You do need a car of you don’t like walking. There is hourly parking garages all over downtown. You’re in walking distance from the beach. If you have a family of 3 more more you may not want to live downtown. There are a lot of homeless people around, be mindful of your surroundings. "

"Many condos in Waikiki have a “no pets” policy. Unfortunately, Honolulu is behind the curve in this regard. However, there are some beautiful green spaces to walk your dog. "

"I’ve lived in Waikiki for 3 years and have been in and out of places all over the island I love the island in general, Waikiki is a great places to celebrate and have a great time any holiday family time or gathering, I personally don’t recommend it because of how small it is and easy packed it can get traffic can be difficult and there has a been a lot of documented thefts here in Waikiki being targeted towards “tourists”"

"I I wish I can own a dog most apartments don't let you have dogs and if they do let you have dogs you have to pay $500 for a deposit and I just can't do that so I love dogs and I like my neighbors to have dogs and I would like to have a dog but just doesn't seem not to mention I'm blind and I don't need a seeing eye dog because I use a cane and I get around just fine aloha and thank you"
