    About this House

The 21+ acre Star Trail Ranch stretches across a gorgeous hillside and down to a flat meadow in the Rim Rock Ranch Vineyard Estates - a highly sought-after gated subdivision of sprawling, private, wine-country estates, set against the backdrop of the Rim Rock cliffs. The dramatically beautiful Star Trail Ranch features nearly 180-degree vistas, stretching from Coyote Valley out to Mount Saint Helena, as well as a majestic view of the night sky that inspired its name. Whether building a weekend or permanent home, you can select between at least two distinct building-site options - one on the hillside with sweeping views of the valley & sunsets over the Mayacamas range; the other in the expansive lower meadow with absolute privacy, stands of native oaks, and a small, year-round, spring-fed pond that is frequented by abundant birds & wildlife. Plant your vineyard in the mineral-rich red volcanic and alluvial soils, along the south-facing hillside that offers excellent drainage. Or perhaps youd prefer to cultivate an olive grove or make your own honey, as many Rim Rock neighbors have done. Add a swimming pool or simply enjoy the peace & serenity of untouched nature. Star Trail Ranch is just 25 min from Calistoga & Napa Valley; and 2 hours from SF and the East Bay. While it feels completely removed from the fast pace of daily life, the ranch is only a 3-min drive to Hidden Valley Lakes supermarket, restaurants, shops, and 18-hole golf course. Your wine-country retreat awaits!

"What makes this neighborhood unique is that it is a gated community a sense of security the two beaches, the security patrolling, the equestrian center the golf club the updated areas surrounding the new golf club the sense of security and community."
    • Archie Lipscomb
"Not only do you see people walking their dogs but also there is local dog park that is pretty private and at the same time typically thereโ€™s not a lot of activity there so lots of times youโ€™ll have the park to yourself."
    • Ceesintahoe
"Met a lot of nice people here and feel very safe. We have lots of shared spaces, including a golf course, swimming pool and beaches. "
    • Charlie Mcfarling
"Itโ€™s a great neighborhood, but thereโ€™s limited public transportation. Other than that, itโ€™s a great place to live."
    • archiel
" In the Hidden Valley Lake area the main thing that you want to meet upon entering is that this is a gated community. Additionally, there is an equestrian center, a dog park private security, 2 beaches and beautiful new community club with a restaurant and grill and a golf course of course which it is well known for and runs throughout certain parts of the neighborhood for example I live on the 13th hole of the golf course in my backyard and there is a creek that separates us. So yes, this is a very beautiful area."
    • Ceesintahoe
"Hidden Valley Lake is a wonderful, safe community with world class views. Needs sidewalks and added areas for dog walking. "
    • Archiel
"I am retired. This area is affected by hills and valleys peaks and mountains. The nearest towns to work can range from 15 minutes to an hour and a half or two hours depending on how much money you want to make. Most people live here because of the cost of the homes & land."
    • Loriaallard
"That there is a great local elementary school. Sports. And some great parks to play at. No sidewalks so need to be careful when out walking."
    • Loriaallard
"Likes - local pet store, dog beach, dog park, very dog friendly area. Dislikes - no sidewalks so when taking dog for walk you are right on the road with the cars. "
    • Loriaallard
"Its long and there is mt st Helena that i must drive over. About 30 min drive to work. Decent amount of other commuters."
    • LA
"There is a really great local school. There are options during the summer with pool and or lake. Also a few parks. Seems to be pretty kid friendly."
    • Hans.bigall
"Can be easy, can be hard depending on the weather and the other idiots racing over the mountain. If you don't like to drive windy roads...don't move here!"
    • Whykny
"ive lived here for 8 years next month safe and kid friendly no one hurts or steals im my neighborhood schools safe "
    • Jessica I.
