School claimed to be able to aid kids with disabilities and made many promises. (for clarification, I have autism, and was a member of the gifted program) They blocked my case manager for doing her job at every opportunity, and it took the threat of a lawsuit for them to actually work with me and my mom to get me to graduate. I will admit, there was maybe 3-4 good teachers I've had, but the fact that my brain has repressed a lot of memories from high school as a trauma response should tell you everything. Also, the one chemistry teacher threw a hissy fit and punished the entire class for "stealing" his Christmas tree (he misplaced it in a cabinet). He also revealed to the outgoing class that I was in, but also the incoming class that I had a GIEP, and stated that I wasn't living up to the fact that I had it... In front of like 50 kids... He said this to a depressed, bullied, autistic kid who was on the verge of crying... and saw nothing wrong with that. Ok, rant over.

This school is a joke... Only teaching to the common core testing. They do not encourage socialization. Who ever heard of quiet lunches for 5th and 6th graders, where they aren't a allowed to speak to those sitting near them??!!! Are you kidding me, again no socialization. Few teachers are friendly and interested in teaching, most seem to only be here for a paycheck. Several teachers and aides are down right nasty to students and parents. If you are thinking about moving to this school... Think again.. Sure wish we would have!!!!

Canonsburg Middle School is a pretty decent school over all, I believe what the student will put into the learning experience the student will get out of the learning experience. However, it does seem at times that sports are just as important as gneral studies. In general the teachers (most of them) are caring and passioate about teaching, but there are some teachers that I found lazy and uninterested. It was just a job for them they seemed to just be passing through, and unfortunately they are still there collecting a paycheck. There is VERY HUGE bullying problem at the school although they profess to have a No Bully Zone present, it's just for show. Often times I'd hear from my child that Mr. Manion has a group of students that are suppose to head the "No Bully Zone" but these students ARE INDEED the ACTUAL bullies.
