Description

209 Cromwell Terrace NE is an updated 4BR/3.5BA rowhome with a layout that gives you options. The main level is open, bright, and easy to live in, anchored by a well-designed kitchen with quartz countertops, marble tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances, gas range, and a large island that naturally becomes the center of the home. Living and dining flow seamlessly off the kitchen, with hardwood floors throughout the main and upper levels, and easy access to the rear deck—perfect for relaxing or having friends over. Upstairs, you’ll find three bedrooms, including a comfortable primary suite with a light-filled bath, plus an additional full hall bathroom with a deep tub. The fully finished walk-out basement adds real flexibility with a fourth bedroom, full bath, second living area, laundry, and private rear entrance—ideal for guests, work-from-home, or longer-term stays. Big-ticket items are already handled: new TPO roof (2025), updated HVAC (approx. 4 years old), newer windows, and updated electrical and plumbing. Out back, there’s a composite deck, off-street parking, and an EV charger. Edgewood is one of DC’s best-kept secrets—tucked away from the chaos, but still offering the accessibility you want. Set on a quiet, low-traffic street with a strong neighborhood feel, you’re just minutes to Brookland, Eckington, and Bloomingdale, with easy access to the Rhode Island Ave Metro, parks, trails, and plenty of dining options all less than a mile away.

  • dkdauphinais
"With Rhode Island Ave NE to the south and Catholic University to the north, Edgewood is a quiet family-oriented neighborhood of row houses and friendly neighbors. I've lived here for 9 years and have seen the natural changes of older, long-time residents giving way to a new generation of home owners. We still have a good mix of older folks with young families, single professionals and students. There's a lot of development happening around the Rhode Island Ave. Metro Station, Home Depot and Giant. Chancellor's Row just off 4th Street NE has new townhouses. There are still some rough edges, but the neighborhood is changing every day!"
  • wtersch
"I've lived in Edgewood for a year and half and am glad I moved to the neighborhood. Folks take pride in the community and are friendly and welcoming. There is a very active Edgewood listserv (Yahoo group), plus an Edgewood Civic Association. The first Saturday of each month, I help with a neighborhood cleanup. Many other neighbors come out and help remove litter and keep the area looking nice, then we enjoy a friendly and free hot dog lunch. Proximity to the new Metropolitan Branch Trail for biking and running is a big plus; the trail leads to the Capitol, which is only 2.5 miles south of Edgewood. In terms of transport, the Rhode Island Station development at the Metro station is adding new businesses and residents to this Metro-friendly area, plus there are frequent buses along Rhode Island Avenue. I like living in Edgewood -- close to everything, yet, for now, relatively affordable -- and am definitely sticking around."
