My child will share his school life with me every day when he comes home. He is very happy every day and the teacher is very patient.

I'm currently going to graduate in the year 2027. As a junior, I have to say that the only thing this school does is making you feel awful about yourself and emotionally numb nearly all the time. First, the environment, is completely competitive as many kids are taking AP Classes in and out of the school. Those that fall behind are counted as a tier lower than other people. It is feels like a rat race as many people do whatever they can to get a good grade. After all, learning didn't matter anymore when colleges came around. Second, the teachers, nearly all of them make me question how people do well in their respective classes. Most of the time, your child will need to self-study to at least get decent grades, and that is just decent, not good. Third, the costs, and there is going to be lot in time and money alike. I myself, already have tutoring for 3 classes which is outrageous itself. The costs for doing this per month is over $1000, yes $1000. Not only that, many kids already know the material, so they outcompete the other unfortunate kids easily in each assessment. Especially for AP Classes, your going to need to be at least middle to top one percent of the country to actually afford good grades. Fourth, diversity and the perfect test score claims. Unless you want to count the percentages of each race in the statistics area, majority of the school is Asian. Every AP math class or science class is going to have a nearly all or full Asian class. The perfect test scores are only from students who are insanely smart or from kids who have private tutoring. Like I said it is nearly impossible to get good grades without tutoring in this school. Students should get the credit not the teachers. Fifth, the lack of spirit and events is obvious. There is no school spirit, it is completely forced. Everyone is in the same race to get a 5 on the ap test for their college resume. The amount of people that go to any event is also extremely low because people are focusing on tests and other assignments. Sixth, the policies at this school. The policies are fair except for their bullying policy. I find it quite questionable that both the victim and bullies are suspended for any occasion, despite multiple witnesses. Overall, please reconsider other schools before choosing this one, I am sure there are healthier options then this one. Do yourself and your child a favor by avoiding this school. Your going to lose money and joy on it, trust me.

I currently attend this school and am going to graduate soon. Their education is well rounded, giving students the ability to prepare for state testing. Though, I want to address how most math teachers are giving material to the students and making them learn about the subject themselves. Since I don't have a tutor, taking home the homework and trying to finish it is such a long process of reviewing the book and trying to look online for help. Also, the safety of this school is quite questionable, I witnessed a fight break out in the bathrooms of the locker room with two girls going at it. Bullying is frequent, but students hide it well so that the higher ups don't try to dig deeper. At this school, you might feel a sense of uncertainty and feel insecure at times, but most teachers help by giving you a break. The wind ensemble is amazing, the practice it takes to achieve this level and sound is extraordinary and the performances are such a thrill. Also, you'll be able to take school trips to perform in other schools or if you're in wind ensemble, they take you out of state, like they did this year. The choir is also a great way to explore what you like and helps build bonds and new friendships. Yearbook is also an elective, but if you're considering applying for it, some drama may unfold and your groups might split with the amount of stress to create a pages in a few weeks. There's also art and an advanced class for it. If you love to create projects and show your creativity, this elective will be a good fit. In 6th grade, your elective options are small. In 7th grade, you get to expand your spectrum of electives. In 8th grade, many unique elective choices will be given. To sum up, the school's electives are amazing, the teaching is a bit off in some classes, the safety or emotional support depends on the counselor you'll get for your grade, and family engagement are encouraged in activities.
