We transferred out of this school after just a few months. I’ve never seen anything like it, and it was nothing like the positive reputation I’d heard about. I think it’s changed the past few years. I keep hearing of many families also transferring out. There were fights ALL the time, my son would come home and show me videos taken in class of kids just messing around (I feel for those teachers), the principal was awful, and there is zero sense of community. Not the high school experience I’d want my child to have. But the worst was the fear my child would be hurt. There aren’t just fights among students, but also parents. My child was on so many lockdowns in just those few months- one because parents were fighting outside the school with a bat and one ran home to get a gun. I would never recommend this school to anyone.

There were quite a few times I wanted to talk to the principal for a few minutes, but she was always so busy and was told I had to make an appointment. I had even went to the teacher and the principal regarding my child's falling grades and was told there are no supports that the school could offer to help my child further along in my child's education. This school had a terrific coach of almost 20 years. The principal fired him and never gave students the opportunity to say goodbye to him as alot of students and parents were close to him. Since then, the sports programs have gotten worse in planning and coordinating. The principal has done a terrible job including parents this year in school affairs. So many events have been poorly planned this year. Test scores, and academics are down horribly. The only thing that makes this school great is the teachers and office administration, they are wonderful. They do so much for the students and parents. Lincoln Elementary needs a new principal.

My son go to Gaston Middle School and the school seems to be racist profile towards Asian community because my son has got bullied by multiple student that are different race besides Asian at once but the principal in the school decide to suspend it my son for being bullied and it's just not tore my son I was in the office and there was other Asian lady that was there with me has said the same thing about the school this school is highly not recommend a safe and healthy community for Asian people and when I try to speak to the principal they tried to tell me that they are busy with other family when this is a urgent issue that needs to be resolved immunity this is an unprofessional School to have principal and staff that is on train to be on site when stuff like this happen
