I WAS A STUDENT AND IT WAS HELL!!! WHEN MY FRIENDS WERE GETTING BULLED MICHAL ROSS DID NOTHING TO HELP THEM. I found out that some kids were throwing out slurs, and when we tried to tell him, he completely dismissed it, he only cares about the popular sporty kids. And the teachers were mean and horrible, my 6th grade year was hell. I know that most of the teachers and parents hate that school. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FIND ANOTHER SCHOOL!!!!!!

I am a former student from long ago and now I have a child at BHS. The school has joined at upper echelon on Michigan High Schools. My child plays sports at BHS and learned a ton at the high school. Of course, Huntington Woods and Berkley are both outstanding neighborhoods to raise a family. BHS has been nothing short of amazing as usual. As a student in the late 80s, early 90s, I would have fallen through the cracks at plenty of other districts, but the Berkley High School was the most caring environment. My child getting the same outstanding experience that I did. Couldn’t be more pleased. Not a perfect high school, but they certainly chase excellence. The new varsity girls basketball coach is worth every. Single. Penny. Outstanding hire.

Having the privilege to be apart of this environment of this school, it has the most dedicated teachers and parents that show support and compassion. The teaching team was collaborative, student-focused, and consistently went above and beyond to support one another and the school community. There are not enough words for the educators that are there.Unfortunately, despite the strength of the staff the work environment was undermined by unsafe leadership practices. These were apparent with the staffing changes and the way the staffing felt odd and uneasy in conversations. Everything suddenly needed to be approved or sent to admin. The administration, created a culture that at times felt chaotic and unsafe for both staffing and students. Concerns were certainly raised at a board level and dismissed or ignored. This is disheartening because with a transparent leadership this school could go back to being the amazing place that would be an outstanding place to be at for staffing and students.
