My granddaughter has had covid in the past but because her parents have made an educated decision to not vaccinate her at this time the school and staff treat her like a leper. She has been sent home several times for reasons such as: having a runny nose, using a tissue in class or having sat next to someone at lunch who may or may not have been exposed to covid. "I have lived here and worked here and my two kids have both gone to school here. Southport is safe, friendly and a great place for your kids to be raised and go to school. "

"I have lived in this neighborhood for 10 years and I loved it. It’s safe and people are friendly. It’s close to everything, including Raley Field, downtown, old Sac, and Sacramento River. It has a very nice facilities such as recreation center, walking and biking trails, green belts, and community centers."

"Lived here for ten years, worked here for 15. Great area, amazing schools especially Southport. I’m looking for bigger lot sizes in the Southport community. Hard to find but well worth it. "

"Newly built bike trails, close to State government agencies, the Sacramento River, the Barn, and the Raily Field. Southport is a super safe neighborhood."

"I love this neighborhood! It is very quiet at night, and during the day children are playing basketball at any of the numerous hoops at the street. There is a park very close by, and the new high school is gorgeous, with a Recreation Center for the public on campus. The gym is VERY nice and there are at least 2 swimming pools and a rock climbing wall. Definitely a HUGE asset to the area. There is a large Target store, as well as a Nugget market, Starbucks, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, SAFE Credit Union, a dry cleaners, beauty salon, nail shop, and several restaurants. Across Jefferson you also have a Lowe's, a couple more restaurants, day spa, alterations business, wine shop and a great night spot in the Streets of London Pub. In the heat of the summer you get the wonderful Delta breezes come through, making the area a couple of degrees cooler. This area is truly a gem."
