"I live downtown and there are events and festivals almost every weekend. We walk to restaurants and stores. We walk in the evening for exercise and we walk our dogs around to smell all the good smells. "
  • Erin.quillian
"I love it here! There’s so much to do, it’s beautiful and the people are very friendly. Weather is good almost year round, minus the hurricanes "
  • Matt
"Galveston is a unique place. Very historic, very walkable in the historic end of town, a cool place. Also not a community in any shape or form."
  • Kaiwalton90
"it's full of events activities and culture with beautiful nature and festivals and fairs always a beach "
  • efcfc32c
"I have lived here for four years and find I enjoy it more with the passing of time. This is living scaled to human beings and not malls, freeways and anthill living. You see people on the street all the time, walking to restaurants, legit theater, bookstore, hotels, bars or just enjoying the scene...very unlike suburbia. There are some beautiful condos available now and activity is really picking up in crowds and action. I recommend looking away from the Strand to avoid the masses that occupy that area during rallies, major events like Mardi Gras etc. Just a few blocks away it is relatively quiet and less crowded but still exciting, with some outstanding loft spaces available. It is wonderful to live in a place that has a real city feel and yet be able to bike to a great beach in five minutes or sit bayside at the pier for fresh seafood in the same amount of time. I highly recommend downtown Galveston living. Once you're here, you'll understand why folks are reluctant to cross the causeway back onto the mainland."

"Located in Historic Downtown Galveston four blocks south of Strand between 23rd and 22nd. Shopping, Dining, and entertainment all within short walking distance. "
