9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageChabot has been more than a wonderful school, but grown to be our community. The teachers and principal are some of the most dedicated educators in the Bay Area. The focus they give not just in academics, but building strong social/emotional learning is second to none. After three years with the school we are already dreading the time when our kiddo will graduate and we will move on from the Chabot family.Parent Review2y ago20 Reviews - Claremont Middle School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have been pleased with our experience at Claremont - there are a few teachers that I have encountered are not well-liked by parents or students, but for the majority of the staff are hardworking and wonderful with our students.Special Ed parents need to be strong advocates, especially if their child is high-functioning.Parent Review9mo ago28 Reviews - Oakland Technical High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth my sons attended Tech, and have enjoyed it. My oldest son is now getting ready to transfer to UC next fall and my younger son is currently a junior and enrolled in AP classes that are as challenging as any college class I’ve seen. I feel the curriculum has prepared both boys well for college. They’ve experienced no bullying, and have made great friends here and they’ve generally liked their teachers. Overall we’ve been happy with our kids attending Oakland Tech!Parent Review2y ago10 Reviews - Thornhill Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThornhill Elementary has been a safe haven for my child and our family. We have been very pleased with the teachers and other administrators including the principal. Our child is neurodivergent and he has found his "people" and we have also felt truly supported during our time at Thornhill. Of course, things can always be better, it is an Oakland public school, but we are so happy to be a part of the Thornhill community as it continues to strive to be better.Parent Review1y ago21 Reviews - Home And Hospital Program

"I grew up on Oakvale Ave & Domingo, and even as a kid I felt that Claremont was the best neighborhood ever: so many families, with genuine community spirit, and all kinds of beautiful, secret places to explore (safely). Now that I’ve lived in Palo Alto, Bryn Mawr, Philadelphia, Manhattan—and raising my own three children in Brooklyn—it’s clear to me that this neighborhood is a uniquely special, sometimes magical, place to grow up. I wish I could move it to Brooklyn!"

"we care for each neighborhood, and watch out for one another in this big community. From helping the elderly to supporting the youth it's one big fest of communities colliding together and having each other backs. Let's not forget the big parties and many fusion restaurants they have to offer. With its diversity of multicultural foods the possibilities are endless and of course let's not forget our classics to New York style pizza to traditional Mexican cuisine it's an abyss of nothing but delicious food coming your way "
