7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had a wonderful experience with Jason Lee Elementary. The staff that I have interacted with are very kind and caring to my children. I have 3+ children who attend Jason Lee Elementary in all various grades and each teacher has been spectacular. I choose to be as involved as I can by serving on the PTA and volunteering for as many of the field trips or activities each grade has and I have found that the sense of community amongst JLE students and staff is strong. I have children at all levels educational wise - some who need additional assistance with the curriculum and others who exceed expectations. And no matter the level, my kids needs have been met. With regards to teachers, I understand that not all personalities mesh well and there has been a couple instances over the years where I could see that a teacher's personality did not mesh with what I wanted for my children. Not that the educator was lacking in skill, education or understanding but simply that I know my child and know that there are instances of good, better and best for that particular child. I would then voice my concerns to their current teacher and ask that when placements were made, to advocate for my child as their own and recommend a placement that would be best for the child and not just be placed at random. When I am able to communicate, I find that my children are placed appropriately and with who fits them best. I have been extremely pleased with all but one of my children's teachers (and the one teacher I didn't care for is no longer there). They have all been very caring, respectful and encouraging to my children which has made each year wonderful. My kids can't wait to go back to school each year and I know it is due to the great teachers and staff. We have recently made the switch from Class Dojo to Parent Square (two years ago) and I believe it was for the best. Communication is easier and I feel like I am well informed. Behavior Support: One of my children needed extra attention in this department and the VP and councilors did an excellent job at keeping me informed of my child's behavior and the steps to help get my child on a better path. My child never felt belittled and was always given respect. Between the staff at school and extra home reinforcement, my child has made huge strides to be a better student, friend and member of the community. I have really valued the way staff handled my child. I would definitely recommend Jason Lee!Parent Review1y ago3 Reviews - Chief Joseph Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has been a constant source of frustration, disappointment, and concern. From the school board to the superintendent and principal, it is clear that the leadership is more interested in protecting the institution's image than protecting the children. Issues are routinely swept under the rug, no matter how serious. My own son has been assaulted at school on several occasions, and I am almost never notified when these incidents occur. Yet, when he decides to defend himself he's given suspensions longer than the aggressor. The lack of communication and transparency is absolutely unacceptable and has left me feeling powerless as a parent. To make matters worse, when a teacher was caught on video behaving belligerently, the principal responded not with accountability, but with threats, warning of legal consequences if the video was shared. Rather than addressing the behavior of the adult involved, the administration tried to silence the issue entirely. This is one of several issues we've had that has been dismissed.Staff behavior is wildly inconsistent, with rules and policies being applied arbitrarily or ignored altogether. Some staff even model bullying behavior themselves, fostering an environment that feels unsafe and unwelcoming for students who need support the most. This school has lost its way. Until there is a complete overhaul of leadership and a serious recommitment to student safety, transparency, and accountability, I cannot and will not recommend this school to any parent.Parent Review1y ago4 Reviews - Check out schools near 200 E Area.

"It’s great for walking, the trails are basically our back yard, but the houses on that edge are not allowed to have fencing, per city code, so we have to do potty on a leash. If your house is not on the edge of the trail access you can have a fence, our neighbors across the street have them. "

"Of the three districts, I feel like Richland is the best. Also, there are plenty of parks so even if you have a small yard, there is sure to be a park really close."

"There is not much traffic on the interstate except at 0800 and 1700. Commute times to downtown are about 15 minutes to Richland, Kennewick and Pasco. The roads are well maintained except sometimes they are not plowed in the winter."

"I moved here years ago after growing up in Los Angeles California. We have low crime, beautiful rivers for boating, tubing, kayaking and now water-yoga which is done on top of your paddle board. All types of restaurants including outdoor dining in the summertime at any of the many wineries here. 3 hospitals for peace of mind that are outstanding. It’s just a more low-key place to live for all demographics. People here are honest hard workers, but without the aggression that I saw daily in LA"
