  • Janette Lorenzo
"I do not commute daily. However there is no public transport and no safe spaces to walk or bike to commute. Finding medical care is difficult unless you have access to top insurance plans. Public transportation is voted down to keep out those that do not have cars."
  • Scott
"There are no sidewalks. At all. Anywhere. You have to walk your dog in the street, with all these people driving their bro-dozers that can’t see what’s happening right in front of their vehicles. "
  • Liz D
"The area is very family friendly. The schools are great and there are lots of kids in the area. There are parks, a couple of state parks and lots of things to do with kids."
  • Brittney Collins
"Mandeville is growing but it’s always been a nice area to raise a family. The schools are good and it’s very quiet. "
  • Cindy
"There are lots of activities for people to attend or participate in; something for everyone. They post about upcoming events on social media so people can be aware. "
  • Emily Johns
"I’ve lived here for years and so have my neighbors. New neighbors who move here are welcomed and easily fall in love with the neighborhood. "
  • Kamala G.
"I’ve visited this neighborhood on and off for four years. It had lovely historic areas as well as newer subdivisions. Some restaurants are world class. It’s a nice distance from New Orleans but just close enough to it for a fun night on the town. It has excellent public schools."
  • Sealsie S.
"I drive across the lake to get to work. There is very little traffic and the causeway is very well maintained. I receive text and email alerts about construction, accidents and other possible delays. "
  • Pamela R.
"Lots of beautiful spaces to hang out with family and have crawfish boils or other outdoor events. Great school system. "
  • Jlkirch
"There are a ton of dogs walked in the neighborhood. Manybpeoplengontonthe dog parks as well as walk on the lakefront"
  • Jenn S.
"People here in Mandeville WILL give anyone with a pit bull, pit bull mix and breeds like the American Bully, a nasty look and/or comment. Be prepared but other than that, it’s fine having dogs here. Great dog park here in Mandeville too!"
  • Janramsey
"Lots of friendly pets and Neighbors walking dogs. Help from neighbors if pets are lost. Lots f vets in the area"
  • Bing F.
"Pool party, Easter eggs hunting for kids. Swimming pool is good exercise place. Nice and quiet neighborhood."
  • Monique0129
"Mandeville is a family friendly community. There is plenty to see and do, whether you enjoy outdoor activities, sports or shopping. There’s something for everyone. "
  • Bing F.
"I have been lived here for 10 years. It is quite and friendly neighborhood . The nature park is not far from neighborhood. We walk in the wood , listen birds chipping , breath fresh air. "
  • Dbnavarro5
"we have great schools, locally owned shops and restaurants. great outdoor family events, weekly farmer's markets, and many parks and safe places for families. "
  • Curiousgeorge58
"There are many loose dogs that may excite your dog and cause them to run off into the wilderness. Other than that it is a safe neighborhood for a well behaved dog"
  • Andre L.
"Great Schools to attend. There is not necessarily a need to send our kids to private schools to receive a good education ."
  • Patrick C.
"My neighborhood is very close to the interstate so it is easy to hop on and go East or west. Less the 10 minutes from the causeway in order to go to New Orleans."
  • Curiousgeorge58
"Not ideal. Causeway bridge for commute gets old after 10+ years of doing it 5 days per week. If you’re and 8-5, traffic is slow towards Jefferson Hwy."
  • Chet M.
"friendly family neighborhood where children and dogs play in the street safely. no through traffic. "
  • Brandon
"Great for families if you don’t want to be anywhere near anything interesting or fun. My neighborhood is mostly retired people and families with small children."
  • Brandon
"The commute to New Orleans is long and tedious. Traffic, construction and drawbridge activity hinder flowing traffic. If commuting to the south shore I suggest moving to the south shore."
  • Lizsekelsky
"Like that most people have dogs and are dog lovers. Not like that people really do pay attention to whether you clean up after your pup. May also not like that pups are not welcome in the common areas."
  • Leigh A. L.
"i’ve lived here 30 years! i love our community and am now raising two sons here. i hope to have grandchildren here someday! "
  • Andre L.
" Mandeville has very good public schools as well as private schools. And also the parks and recreation infrastructure is sufficient and well maintained"
