ABOUT OUR HOUSE: Architect owner. The original early 1900s house was completely renovated and finished this year to provide open studiostyle water views from every room in the house. Sunset Rocks' is our name for the house with a small cove and pebble beach on the tranquil water looking west across Salem Harbor to Forrest River Park. This modern, immaculate house is located on Nonantum Road a private dead end road on the west side of the Marblehead peninsula. Wake up and go to sleep to the sound of soft waves and sea birds and delight in spotting seals, fishing, loberstering and sailing. We also have a mooring for a sail/motor boat. This exquisite cedar shingled house has marble floors (entry and bathrooms), antique pine wood floors (kitchen, dining, living), custom oak cabinets throughout, polished granite counters, and jute carpeting (upstairs). A half bathroom is located off the entry with full-sized Whirlpool laundry and ironing behind secluded doors. Across from the bathroom you'll find the coat closet, storage and double-door pantry along the marble entryway. The brand new kitchen has top end Bosch and Kitchenaid stainless steel appliances and custom oak cabinets. The open dining and living space with antique wooden floors has a fireplace on the north wall. Expand your living area with French doors opening on to an enormous covered 48 ft long veranda over the water. A custom built floating wood staircase provides access to the second story with bedrooms, library and deck. The cathedral ceiling bedrooms and library have sliding glass doors to provide access to the 48 ft long sundeck from all rooms. The master bedroom has water views to the west and south with an en suite bathroom with double sinks, custom glass shower, large soaking tub, and custom mirrors and cabinets. The guest bedroom has water views north and west and a private bathroom and shower. A library/den or office space is in between the bedrooms on the top floor.

ABOUT OUR TOWN: Often called the "Birthplace of the American Navy" founded in 1629, Marblehead is a quaint New England community known as a sailing, fishing, and artist community on a peninsula, eighteen miles north of Boston and Cambridge. Beautiful seascapes all over town, acres of bike and running trails, sand and rocky beaches, local restaurants, shops, and weekly farmers market (May-Nov.). Walk the narrow winding streets to enjoy 17th and 18th Century historic sites. Bicycle to nearby Salem, Massachusetts to enjoy the world-renowned Peabody Essex Museum or Salem's Witch History. "Marblehead is truly something else. I have lived here for the past 10 years and I am sad to leave. This town will always feel like home. "
  • Msherman48
"It’s Marblehead, an almost 400 year old fishing village on Massachusetts Bay. We have a small town but urban “walking” downtown on a spectacularly beautiful natural harbor. This is the real thing! And, it’s only a short hop to Boston, America’s intellectual capital city. If it didn’t have a cold winter, the whole world would want to live here!"
  • Cynshor
"Takes a little while to get out of Marblehead and through surrounding Salem and Swampscott. Worth every minute on the ride home when you hit the water views."
  • dbrownbos
"My neighborhood is in a great location close to schools and old town section of town. You can walk to shopping and the harbor. Lots of attractions nearby. "
  • Frank K.
