A well rounded school where my son was academically challenged and engaged in many extra curricular activities over his four years. He had wonderful teachers and equally great coaches. Kids were overall nice but he also came directly from the local middle school with a strong friend group. Also plenty of clubs so most kids find their footing pretty quickly The only negative experience my son ever had was with the athletic director who was on numerous occasions rude, arrogant and very condescending to other athletes (and their parents) that are not football players.

Lexington Elementary is a wonderful school. We moved to the area about a year ago and have had a great experience. Our son loves going to school every day because they make it fun. The school itself is in a gorgeous mountain setting. The kids can learn Spanish, Art, STEAM, PE, Life Lab (gardening), Running Club, and Math in addition to their classroom studies. As an IB program, learning a second language at home is celebrated, which has helped us encourage our child to be multi-lingual in his home language. There are many events and extracurriculars including a school play, talent show, math night, international night, music class, school dances, and more that keep us busy and social throughout the year. The community is welcoming and it's great that the class stays together from year to year leading to the development of great friendships and not having to reorient to a new group of classmates each year. The school listens to and assists with any social issues and helps kids grow in the ability to resolve conflicts as they inevitably come up between children. Mr. Deppong, the Principal has been an amazing support in my child's life, providing him a safe place to share his side of the story, and has been fair and discerning. Although the test scores and academic ranking are high the kids do not feel pressured by too much homework or competition. We feel like the homework is just right and allows us some time for after-school activities and additional study areas we choose for our child. We are excited to see our son continue to blossom at Lex throughout Elementary School and are very grateful we moved to this district. Overall, our biggest observation is that kids in this school seem happy and confident which is due to the amazing people that work at the school and support them as they grow.

Just feel like the warnings I was given regarding teachers, bullying and support (all negative for the most part) remains accurate based on what I see and hear. And where does all the money go?!!! No field trips??? Wild. Paying for sports?! Donations for what?!?
