4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and administration here are absolutely fantastic. They work for the children and with the parents and students. All four of our children have attended Longfellow Middle School and have had an amazing time. The music program has continued to get even better. The robotics team has won state and world awards. The students work very hard. Sure you are going to find some bad apples but overall the school is wonderful. Success is not hard to achieve in this environment.Parent Review9y ago5 Reviews - Palm Elementary School

"We have an awesome Halloween display and that in itself brings together at least 300 kids. That is not including the adults. We love to bring happiness to the people in our community and that is the best way we do it and the neighborhood loves it. We even have people that have been told and come from out of town to check it out."

"The school system is terrible and there are shootings, gangs and drugs all throughout the city. There are hardly any good paying jobs in the city and they punish the people who do work with all their taxes!!!!"

"Lorain is a cheap place to live but not good if you have kids. We are leaving Lorain to get our kids in better schools. There is a lot of gang violence and young teens dying. Don’t want my kids to grow up around that. "

"If you want to live in a community where your neighbors are more like family, and your children will have an endless supply of friends to play with, then Deerfield is the place. We've lived here for 5 years and love it. Everyone is kind and inviting. The only downside is the gun range, which is not moving any time soon. But honestly, after 5 years, we hardly notice the noise. But the nature and people surrounding us make up for it."

"Grew up on the West Side of Lorain, where most of my family still lives. Certain areas are better than others of course, but generally it is quiet and safe. Lorain has lots to offer like the boardwalk, the Palace theatre, and the International Fest in addition to being close to things like Cedar Point, Cleveland, and tons of shopping"
