When we purchased our house in 2021 amid the bidding wars, based on feedback from other community members, we made a house within this school's boundary high on our list. My child started at this school in second grade and is now in fourth grade. I think the administration, teachers, paraeducators, and counseling staff put a lot of effort into creating a welcoming and engaging environment for students. My child absolutely adores the garden. There are also alternative learning options available through programs such as EXCEL. I do wish there was a bit more communication from teachers in general about the positive things our children achieve throughout the year, but I understand they are very busy with limited time resources. Overall I think Illahee does a good job at fostering an adaptive learning environment to meet many different types of needs where everyone feels welcome.

My student attends Shahala and some of your stats are outdated. The last reviews were during COVID lockdown or hybrid return to school. There's a new principal, there are many more sports and extracurricular activities than 2 listed here. Shahala is fantastic about communicating with families and offering engagement opportunities. Administration keeps parents/guardians well-informed about smart tech use and physical safety tips for students on campus, as well as coming to and from school. Teachers are very invested in student success. Unfortunately behavioral issues, overt racism, and discrimination are steadily increasing among the student body. Staff respond to incidents as best they can, however more aggressive intervention is needed immediately in this political era.
