8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had a great experience at this school. The teachers are very nice, supportive, and encouraging. They always help the students. The principal is very cooperative. The school environment is safe. Though the nurse needs to be more caring about the students and should always follow up with them. But overall, I recommend this school for the students.Student Review7mo ago - Highland Avenue Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are some excellent, loving, inspirational, and motivated teachers at this school. BUT there are a few teachers that abuse their power over their students and rely on shame as a teaching tool. The adults supervising lunch and recess need to be trained. Yelling and shaming students on a daily basis is an antiquated teaching technique. As a community, we should expect better from the adults that are with our children on a daily basis. We should require the principal to protect our children and to promote an environment of respect and general welfare. Respect and common courtesy need to be given to the students in order to teach these attributes. Highland needs to become a kinder more respectful environment.Parent Review9y ago - Godwin Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExcellent, caring principal and teachers. Small-town charm. Active PTA. Amazing pre-k program. Integrated with hearing impaired program for the county, so the children learn tolerance and understanding.Parent Review10y ago - Check out schools near 193 Franklin Ave.

"It’s noisy here. There are railroad tracks that bisect Midland Park and every night a train goes through. There is a volunteer fireman siren that goes off at odd hours, and it makes a terrible racket. It never goes off at night, though. People here are suspicious and not very friendly."
