I must say that the drop off feels very unsafe to be having elementary kids. Staff does their best to address this, but it still doesn't remove my fear fro my Kindergartner. Unfortunately my kid hates school now and has had many issues making friends and opening up about her days in school. Her teacher does do her best but i feel maybe she has too many kids assigned to her for a kindergartner teacher. They do address my daughters second language barrier and she has been able to overcome it and catch up with her class. The environment does not feel great for my kid either. Only some of the playgrounds have shade.

I am a sophomore in the band program at mesa high. I would like to say I enjoy this school but there needs to be some updates. The school board focuses on student athletics, don't get me wrong but there are so many other great programs at this school, for example, our clubs, the performing arts program, our AP classes, our FAFSA program, etc... But here's the thing teachers are great, except the students, but the board does not. I will say that I was not doing ok mentally but we have our awesome social workers, and they will help. This school also helps with getting college credits early WE have the ACE program and many dual enrollment classes. One thing I wish they did is to give the band a senior poster, because other schools do it, all of the sports have senior posters, so why can't we? The seniors put in lots of hard work for what they do. The teachers here are great I just wish the school board would focus on other things than sports. They need to acknowledge some students, not the student body.

I’m glad this was my daughter’s last year at Poston the way the assistant principal handles bullying is less than mediocre they take the new lingo this generation says more serious than bullying (my son got a biff for just saying 6-7) but my daughter getting verbally and physically bullied was pushed to the side it’s totally backwards here not to mention there’s several teachers I’ve dealt with the last 3 years of my children attending this school who don’t motivate the kids this school is solely based off punishment no fun not even the tiniest no rewards nothing and at the end of the year instead of holding an 8th grade promotion they instead just do an award ceremony for both 7th and 8th so if you don’t academically qualify per teachers pov you don’t receive anything
