Covered parking for 1 car, room for two more small cars or one large truck to park. We're in the neighborhood across the street from Kettells Beerworks and the Banner Elk Police Station. Convenient to everything! Maximum occupancy is 4 people. We list this property on Airbnb and VRBO as a short term rental through April 2026, so you can see our ads there for short terms through this period if interested. Renter pays utilities.

Available April 2026 - May 2027. Perfect school term for nearby Lees McRae or App State in Boone, faculty or staff. NO SMOKING on property. Home is heated and cooled by two mini-split systems. And there are plenty of fans and windows plus some electric heating units if needed. A propane fireplace is in living room. Tenant responsible for all utilities. Tenant responsible for lawn/driveway care (snow removal as needed) and trash removal, and can hire out directly; ask landlord for suggestions. Surveillance devices on front and rear doors of house. Pets - up to 2 dogs, OR 2 cats, OR 1 dog and 1 cat allowed; $35/mo pet rent per pet, and $300 refundable pet deposit for 1st pet and extra $150 for 2nd pet. Minimum age to rent is 25. Renter will undergo background and credit check; this is applied 100% of the time and there are no exceptions.

    "Valle Crucis park is great for the family! There are great play areas for kids, walking paths, and fishing right on the Watauga River. There are great Mast General Store is an awesome place to visit with the family. There is a great beaf jerky shop nearby as well in Valle Crucis. There are 3 ski resorts within striking distance, plus lots of hiking. "

No place for service workers to live. Very congested with roadwork and tourists in the summer. Nice weather, but it pretends to be the Aspen of Dixie. Housing is same cost as California, but no jobs."

It is a huge issue. Beautiful views & weather despite Mack trucks, Loggers, and constant roadwork & traffic. If you are uber wealthy & don't have to commute or work, it is the bees knees as any place would be."
