"Don’t let your children out after dark. If you hear any yelling from anywhere I recommend you just stay inside and mind your business. "
  • Trulia User
"its friendly and you get privacy around your neughborhood and can walk to the places yoy need to go without any problems"
  • Trulia User
"Has a decent amount of families with children ages 5-14 years old. Most of the neighbour's are nice and keep to themselves. Watch out living to close to the side streets with 4-way intersections, about 70% of the traffic doesn't stop at the stop signs and a ton of the people who drive around this area speed."
  • Trulia User
"Dogs are gated! Although walking your dog is always a pleasant you get to see and speak to neighbors. But please remember to clean-up behind your fur-baby!"
  • Zara B.
"I don't see a lot of people walking their dogs on the sidewalks. But at Glen Oak Park there's a bunch of people walking their dogs. "
  • Bryantcool234
"You’ll be able to walk and get no real negative attention. What you’ll dislike is how many other owner simply don’t clean up their dog’s waste. You’ll at time walk into parts and smell it for awhile."
  • Zara B.
"It's really close to parks and restaurants. There's festivals going on at Glen Oak park all the time. "
  • Mahayliakheiona
"I lived in East Bluff for 16 years and it is a pretty good area to have been. As long as you don't try to start any confrontations, you should be okay. Neighbors change frequently, so that is something to be wary of. Peoria as a whole, however, makes a person stagnant. Many of the people that live here work for a few main companies, one of which lays people off every few years. My suggestion is that unless you are absolutely sure your job is there to stay, or you have never left the P, don't move to Peoria. It will not help you grow as a person. It will make you stagnant, and make you grow content with never striving for more."
  • Diana C.
"I have lived in my house over 11 years, nice neighborhood, neighbors,... and yes Neighborhood Watch is very active. "
  • Janelindsey67
"It’s one of the higher-crime parts of town, but the people we’ve met have been friendly, for the most part."
  • Ebo3bun
"I used to live here 4yrs ago. It's a decent area. Not too big of a city, not too many things to do, but its home for now."
  • Tls1995
"I have lived in the 1800 block of Peoria Ave for 6 years. It is not a nice place to live and has gotten much worse over the last year. We have to call the police at least 3 and often more times a week. The neighborhood kids will steal anything and do. We have to pay for a catholic school because District 150 is awful. You can't let the kids or pets be outside without supervision. We would not still be here if we had any other choice. Even the local police officers will tell you to "just move". Cars think nothing of driving down the street at 45-50 miles per hour. There are numerous drug houses in our block which means people driving up and honking till the person they want comes out to see what they want. It's really a shame even the drug buyers are too scared to get out of their cars. We do have a wonderful neighborhood group in the area but I’m afraid we are losing this battle."
