Description

Brand New Designer Construction House overlooking the Bay! 1 bedroom/1 bath 620 total sq feet modern Scandinavian-style home with Bay views.

Brand new custom-built EVERYTHING. A rare find. Sausalito almost never has brand-new construction-and not of this quality-available for rent.

It is high-end to the hilt. People who experience it describe it as feeling like you are entering a high-end, natural, rustic coastal spa lodge. You are embraced everywhere with natural materials.

Imported Burmese wide-plank (12" wide) in-layed hardwood floors with radiant floor heating controlled by an on-demand double boiler high capacity water heater--which also provides endless hot water for showers and baths.

The contrasts of the natural materials used in this new construction are notable and soothing. Cedar ship-lap on the living room, bedroom and bathroom walls juxtaposes against weathered NYC loft- type brick walls, inlaid teak flooring, maple vaulted ceiling beams, and huge picture windows.

The spacious kitchen has Michelangelo Calacata white marble countertops and floating built-in marble kitchen table with enough room to sit five people, with plenty of outlets, decorative lighting underneath and Nordic pendant lights overhead. Floating solid maple and glass custom kitchen shelves with inset lighting underneath open up the surprisingly large kitchen even further.

A hand-pounded copper large kitchen sink with disposal sits next to an Italian made Ilve four burner stainless steel and oil-rubbed bronze high BTU professional quality stove and oven, undercounter Marvel Stainless Steel Refrigerator and under counter freezer. Ultra-quiet high end Miele dishwasher with hand-made maple front. All of the custom maple undercounter cabinets and drawers are soft-close. There is a Lemans II blind corner pull out organizer for easily tucking away pots and pans. This kitchen is large for a tiny house. It's efficient with space as if it were a Swedish yacht.

Maple beams cross the 8 1/2 foot high vaulted maple ceiling with inset designer oil-rubbed bronze square-baffled dimmable recessed lights. Exposed structural beams provide a rustic and refined warmth.

5.5-feet wide pivot entry door--with a digital key operable manually or from your cell phone--is made of luxurious 2-inch thick solid Burmese Teak.

All interior doors are 1.75" thick Burmese Teak including the windowed pocket door between bedroom and living room, the custom closet door, stylish frosted glass doors to the bathroom, and the farmhouse sliding door for the utility room. It's a pleasure to feel the quality and weight of these doors as you open and close them.

The ship-lap cedar closet is very large and has a surprising amount of space to store two people's clothing and shoes. The closet floor has an inlayed wood hatch that leads to the basement crawl space where boxes can be stored.

Custom-layed hexagonal Calacutta Gold tiled extra-large bathtub, ceiling mounted copper rain head shower, six wall jets, frameless glass shower door, surrounded by rustic earth-toned concrete walls. Hand-hewn thick wood-edge chestnut vanity sink top over Burmese teak drawers, backlit wall mirror, teak built in wall cabinet, designer square-covered toilet.

La Cantina nana-wall type large folding windows between the kitchen and the exterior patio's counter opens up the space for indoor-outdoor living. The exterior teak counter allows two to three people to eat outdoors while conversing with persons inside and passing plates smoothly across the outside counter to and from the marble kitchen counter.

The living room and bedroom have massive fire-proof picture windows that--if the next door fence is lowered, as we expect--will look out at the sweeping views of the Bay, Angel Island and the East Bay.

High end Hunter Douglas Power-shade automated black out blinds in bedroom, and automated translucent blinds in living room, kitchen, and manual blinds in bathroom provide the utmost privacy, sleep-friendly environments, and convenient one-touch operation.

The full moon and sunsets are spectacular in Old Town Sausalito.

The utility room has a large capacity washer and gas dryer. Dry cleaners are across the street.

The very large (20-ft x 9-ft) private patio has views of the Old Town Sausalito Hills and the nearby massive avocado tree. The patio floor is solid 1" thick Burmese teak alternating with gorgeous ipe, surrounded by walls of plantation teak, blue stone tile, floating teak entry stairs with underlighting, and a fence and gate with rich Ipe wood slats on both sides for privacy that has interior lights warmly glowing automatically at night.

On the far side of the patio will be a recently City zoning-approved 5-person capacity in-ground spa custom-built with top of the line materials. It will boast a nifty motorized teak and ipe spa cover that feels like it came out of a James Bond movie--when it slides open and folds against the southern patio wall, you can walk around the spa on all sides. When you press a button to close it, its panels roll to fold back down seamlessly with the teak and ipe patio wood--so you can walk on it as you would any other part of the patio and would never know the spa is underneath. A great space saver and fun to use!

This is a jewel of a house.

The home is fully CAT-6 ethernet wired for high speed data transmission. There is also fiber optic available depending on who you choose as your internet provider.

Steps from Golden Gate Market, Swede's Beach, 5 minute walk along the shore to downtown Sausalito with great restaurants and shops. Minutes from Marin Headlands and National Recreation Area. Easy ferry commute only a 10 minute walk away and 10 minute driving commute to San Francisco.

Easy parking on Valley St. or Sausalito Blvd. less than one block away with City pass allowing up to 72 hours at a time.

Pets welcome (for a little extra).

1 car parking available for $100/mo.

One year lease preferred but negotiable. Available now.

This place is truly a gem.

Thanks!

It's your own stand alone home. Tenant pays for all utilities. Water is $25/person per month. PGE bills are low because of radiant floor heating and brand new energy efficient green construction. Spa service when operational. No smoking allowed. 1 year lease preferred but negotiable. If and when the fence next door is lowered and the Bay view exposed, the rent may adjust slightly. (negotiable)

"It’s a great neighborhood to walk in but there are not a lot of sidewalks. So you have to constantly listen for cars, which unfortunately are often driven too fast without a lot of considerations for pedestrians.. "
  • Shawna
"Small streets and cars can get close when walking dogs. But most people are very pet friendly and like seeing the dogs"
  • Megan M.
"I've lived in this neighborhood for 5 years. I'm looking to move into a larger house and I know I want to stay in Sausalito. It's convenient to get to central and northern Marin as well as close enough to SF. Having the water so close by is wonderful!"
  • Megan M.
"Super easy. I commute against rush hour traffic each direction. Right now I am working from home, so I do not commute at all. "

"Lots of fun kiddo things to do. Bad grade school (K-5th) public schools. The middle school and high schools are in the next city up ( one exit) and are quite good. Otherwise, the southern marin mothers group is very active here for noms of young kids and there are several fantastic private school for all educational philosophies. Overall, a great city for kids. Lots of tourist activity, but strong neighbor support. Lots of parks public spaces and restaurants that are kid friendly. "
