9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI feel very under supported at this school and the assistant principles hardly try to even listen to a student when they’re having issues with a teacher. Many teachers here are passive aggressive and don’t take their students’ health into consideration when they are in the school. I repeatedly have to remind them about my 504 plan and other issues I have in my personal life, only to be met with no support, answer, not even a single teacher following my plan for me to attend this school. The counselors are pretty much the only people who care (depending on who you get). Teachers get away with bullying their own students, and it’s never addressed or fixed. A band teacher here has serious bias that really takes a toll on people’s mental health to the point where me and a load of other students dropped band completely due to the teacher’s behavior. 6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis year has been fantastic. The principal and assistant principal are so engaged with the parents and the students. The principal has been to many of the extracurricular events and is always making himself available to parents. The communication has improved sooooooooo much this year. We receive weekly communications from the office about upcoming events for the school and for the district. We also receive communications from the teachers about upcoming classroom activities and what our student is learning in the upcoming weeks. Like any school, a lot of the learning is based off of state testing so I wish there was a different way to see how each student is doing individually but I also understand there has to be a way to do an overall view on hundreds of students at one time.The mental health provided by the school and the district gets better every year as well. They have on an on campus mental health team as well as a new program called Hazel health that provides support to any student.There is a nurse on site daily which is phenomenal. The last school district I was in had a traveling nurse that rotated between schools so to have a full time nurse on site is a blessing. The teachers are amazing. They have a great team this year. There are a lot of kiddos and I can only imagine how mentally exhausting it is to manage all the emotions and situations that come up in a day. "Great schools, lots of kids in our neighborhood for my daughter to play with close to home while enjoying the outdoors! Beautifully maintained yards and homes. We enjoy the great local eating spots. Close proximity to shopping and fun activities. Pools and bike trails galore! During. Halloween we have to get tons of candy because there are tons of cute kiddos trick or treating. We love living in Centennial! "
