"I don’t have a dog so I don’t know. I see people walking their dogs daily and they seem happy enough. "
  • Sgtespinosajd
"Great schools, family oriented, quiet streets, neighbors don’t bother each other, clean streets, no crime."
  • Sgtespinosajd
"Excellent neighborhood to live and raise a family. Best decision I made to move here from the city. My kids love it here and the schools are great."
  • Amyhaag
"I have to drive into the city. Traffic is a nightmare. It’s usually about an hour in the morning and 1 hour and 15 on the way home. Toll for the bridge is pricy. Public transportation options are limited, pricy and long."
  • Laura
"The neighbors are all wonderful, courteous and caring. Neighbors walk and play with their children and pets in the street. No need to drive to a festival as they are held a few times per year just a few blocks away. Walking distance to the elementary school and parks."
  • Jonparky
"Tappan is an historic town! Washington had his headquarters here. It’s a true mix of old and new homes. Convenient commute to NYC. "
  • Julieanna L.
"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 9 years and its safe, neighbors are friendly. Everyone looks out for each other "
  • mcgvs14
"This is an absolutely beautiful area! The school district is excellent, the properties are very well maintained, and it is an extremely safe and lovely community. This area has it all - access to public transportation, restaurants, entertainment, shopping, lots of activities and sports for the kids, libraries, parks, places of worship, and nightlife. Everyone who lives here loves it! Families with kids, singles, couples and retirees love it! There is so much to do! Tappan is in a college town. There are three colleges in this town that offer additional life enrichment opportunities. It has everything you could possibly want. Plus, it is just a few minutes away from the Palisades Interstate Parkway, the NYS Thruway and the Garden State Parkway. Tappan lies on the border of Bergen County, New Jersey. It is less than 15 miles from New York City. It's a great commute into Manhattan. It is close to the beach and the mountains! The quality of life in this town is outstanding!"
  • Diane
"I have family who live in this community"
  • Marie
"Someone just reminded me of this post. I truly had trouble recalling it because I had also posted on our realtor's webpage (Margo Bolin). It's now almost 7 months later and we love Tappan even more. Our daughter is happy and has adjusted quite well. Lots of kids in the area (well-mannered and just lovely too boot). The school system was and remains our #1 priorty and we haven't been let down there! Tappan reminds my husband/me of our childhood neighborhood (where we remain close friends with our childhood neighbors). A true neighborhood. Also, as I tell everyone "it's nice to walk on a sidewalk". We love Rockland and living in the 'burbs, but we are now so close to NYC an all that it offers. It's so easy to visit family who stayed behind in NYC. A perfect location and a truly wonderful neighborhood, neighbors and teachers! Having lived in Rockland since 1988 (Nanuet & Pomona and we know other areas well - Stony Point, Garnerville, New City & Haverstraw), Tappan is by far our favorite. "
  • Rita V. B.
"I live and work here. Tappan is a very charming, and historical hamlet. The local merchants care and participate in the community on many levels. It is only 15 miles north of NYC. Truly a gem. "
  • Marie
"We just purchase a home in Tappan and what a wonderful, family friendly and pet friendly neighborhood! I lived 1e years in Pomona NY and our doorbell rang about 1x a year. In Tappan, a neighbors are still stoping by to welcome us! We moved for the school district. And we absolutely love the schools! Great family oriented neighborhood!"
