South Orangetown Middle School

My child started SOMS during 2019/2020. Despite the general hardship of the pandemic, I was so grateful to the administration, teaching staff and school board for their communication, understanding and support to the community and to the students. SOMS set my child on a road to success for her high school years. As far as I am concerned SOMS is underrated for its positive school atmosphere and exceptional teacher, guidance counselors and principal.

Great school with awesome teachers that make learning fun. Its my first year attending SOMS and i have to say I love it at the least. I have witnessed 0 acts of bullying and the teachers and staff do everything they can to make it stay that way. My only problem with the school is the overwhelming heats the classrooms get in the early fall and spring. That problem can be easily over looked though because of the humorous teachers and friendly peers. I came to this district in 3rd grade and immediately felt welcomed by my teachers and peers. Overall great district and great school!

Truly horrible school in every aspect. I couldn't have been less pleased with the teachers, the administration, and especially the student body.
