I graduated Ranch View in the year 2023. Out of all my time being in education, this school was the worst compared to the harsh middle school dynamic. Let's start things from the top. In first grade, I remember running around on the blacktop (the school had a blacktop at the time and did not have a giant playground - was quite a small school when I went), when suddenly a kid started chasing me and harassing me. He took my hoodie and purposefully put mud all over it. I brought this up to my teachers, and they told me it would be dealt with. However, he only left in second grade after (what I found out as) moving to a different city. They did not ever discipline or bring up his behavior to faculty, and deliberately went behind my parents backs to cover this up. Another situation I remember was one kid spitting in another peers food during lunch, alongside threw Chromebooks. Despite the child who was a victim in both of these situations crying, the school did not do anything and completely ignored the situations, Their excuse was that he was a disabled kid, and while yes he may not be able to fully control his emotion, he had special teachers and was not part of the special ed program (he was in all normal classes), proving he had full knowledge this was wrong and still went through with it. I am running out of words to fully describe all my experiences, but I remember in my last year at this school, the SAME kid bit me on my arm and actually left a full scar on my arm. His special ed teacher did nothing about this, even though I was super close to her and was bawling my eyes out at this situation. To sum things up, this school is horrible when it comes to dealing with problematic situations that could tarnish the educational departments image. I am going into High School now, and still am shocked to this day how I managed to go through six years of being minorly bullied and nothing being done. On a side note, some teachers are very passive aggressive, and hold grudges or seem to lack to decency to forgive a little child over a small mistake. Now, some examples that I have seen throughout from my experiences--along with my peers--teachers will sometimes try to make examples out of children to publicly humiliate them in front of their classmates. I remember this happening to one of my now friends, and she was super embarrassed that she completely lost her voice and is now quiet. I am out of words, but parents, please take what I say into consideration.
