We had a good experience sending our daughter to John Overton. It is what the student makes of it. There are lots of different programs to choose from. Our daughter really enjoyed being in orchestra and winter guard. The staff is helpful and responsive and professional. The new renovations are an added bonus.

I used to go to this school, and it was horrible. I was not given the care I needed when I was being harassed. The assistant principal lied to my mother and me on the phone when discussing a physical attack that had happened more than once. I am disappointed in their administration and the way they choose to "resolve" issues. They put you into a separate room and have you talk about feelings. They put the two people who just fought in the same room and apologize if you were in the wrong! Even though the teachers were kind, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL!!!

So, I was apart of the first year that Shayne started to do 5th grade (2024-25) it was awful. Nothing made sense, people got into fights most of the time, people were skipping classes to go to the counselor, we got screamed at for giving out bracelets and loads more! It might be different now since I have no clue how the environment is since I left.
