5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBeen a parent at this school for over 10 years and I wouldn’t send my kids anywhere else! Passion, pride, professionalism…both my kids have thrived there. It’s such a well-rounded school with diverse students and staff. They respect family values, provide excellent education and make learning fun! From gifted services to ASD services, ESOL, YMCA, dance, theatre, recess, parent/community engagement activities and so much more. We love Clay Springs Black Bears!Parent Review2y ago - Wekiva High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagehere's my honest review: wekiva is an alright school with a lot of underlying issues- it is what you make of it. there is a noticeable disconnect when it comes to communication, but if you are an involved parent there shouldn't be any problems (just don't expect to get newsletters and emails from admin). the administration could use a lot of work, as the staff itself isn't bad, they just continue to implement policies and rules that do more harm than good for the students. teachers are great on occasion, and i have been lucky to have some incredible ones. there is a big issue when it comes to work and the actual education that the students are receiving- the administration seems to only care about test scores and the school's overall grade. students are being taught how to pass tests, not how to study and actually do well in whatever skills they should be learning. there is a massive issue regarding the curriculum; some teachers really just do not focus on teaching as much as they do passing their students. there have also been multiple times where a student has had a concern or issue and brought it to admin (bullying mainly) and it was brushed aside or dealt with in a really ineffective way- EG the student gets in trouble for bringing their concerns. HOWEVER, if you or your child actually want to succeed; they won't have issues. if you actually want to go to a great college, the staff can and will prepare you for that. if you want to be a part of sports or one of the magnet programs, you can and will succeed there. wekiva as an institution gets a bad rep, and that's fine. but the students are trying, they're not doing too bad, and it isn't fair to judge them based of the actions of the staff and how the school is run.Other Review2y ago - Check out schools near 1833 Bonerly Cir.
