6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen we purchased our house in 2021 amid the bidding wars, based on feedback from other community members, we made a house within this school's boundary high on our list. My child started at this school in second grade and is now in fourth grade. I think the administration, teachers, paraeducators, and counseling staff put a lot of effort into creating a welcoming and engaging environment for students. My child absolutely adores the garden. There are also alternative learning options available through programs such as EXCEL. I do wish there was a bit more communication from teachers in general about the positive things our children achieve throughout the year, but I understand they are very busy with limited time resources. Overall I think Illahee does a good job at fostering an adaptive learning environment to meet many different types of needs where everyone feels welcome.Parent Review6mo ago - Shahala Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRecent review of Shahala, staff and leadership are way off base. The teachers do a great job of preparing students for high school. Administrators make sure that all students are cared for. Our family's experience has been wonderful.Parent Review3y ago - Check out schools near 18312 SE 24th Way.

"Rarely see police this side of Vancouver. So people ignore traffic rules. Watch out for people running red lights and stop signs here. And for speeders. A lot of self entitled bad drivers fly through here in expensive cars. They often can’t or don’t properly execute 4-way stops, or even stop at them, unless a police car is parked there. "

"This neighborhood is great for family's and all your neighbors are very friendly but still mind there own business and are always happy to lend a helping hand if you need anything, great place to walk, cycle, take your dog out, ect ... this neighborhood is conveniently located close enough to all major stores and food places"

"I don’t want to commute based on the horrible driving skills that I have observed here. People are rude and unkind everywhere "

"I won’t commute...people are hideous behind the wheel! Just trying to walk my dog and cross the street is frightening. People don’t stop...they roll through stop signs or just slow down and then speed away. Doesn’t matter where you live people just suck!"

"I have lived here for 6 years now. Love the area for the convenient location to stores, parks, walking areas and the friendly neighbors."
- m_maraee

"I've lived here for the past 6 years, and its where my kids went to school (Elementary, Middle, and High) I have all ages and this neighborhood is the best in Vancouver and specifically this area, great school, extremely safe, access to shopping and highway plus great services and community involvement, while the schools are nationally recognized, its worth more than every penny I put in there, the weather, the trees, the hiking paths, the ocean and waterfalls are all within a very short driving distance."
- Bjapplegate
- 11y ago
"After living in this area for 18 years it just keeps getting better. The shopping is mostly within walking distance! Restaurants are less than a mile away in every direction; parks are sprinkled throughout the neighborhood; and crime is remarkably low. The schools are a two minute drive to drop off the kids and the new high school is remarkable as well. Job growth continues to the east toward Camas so this are will remain vibrant for years to come. You will not find a better location to raise a family!"
- Kauzlaric
- 11y ago
"This is a highly sought after area to live in. With all the amenities of shopping, dining, great schools, safety and close proximity to PDX. "
- Misshyena

"We moved to this area from Lake Oswego, OR and absolutely love it! It's quiet and extremely family oriented. It is a safe, clean, and friendly area of Vancouver - Fisher's Landing is a gem!"
