About this House

We are offering a large private room for rent on the lower duplex unit of a 3BD/1BA about 5 minutes walking distance from the Ashby BART station. The room is approximately 16-by-13 feet and has a wooden floor. It is a private room with three large windows facing the north. It borders the front of the house, a living room, and an entrance hallway. There are two sets of outlets (one by the windows and one by the bed) and two entrances to the room, both of which are locked double doors.

The roommate who's moving out may be willing to leave the mattress and bed frame behind at no extra cost. Curtains and window rods will be left behind.

The house has an in-unit washer and dryer, centralized HVAC, and a mini-patio + backyard with a garden you can use. The kitchen has a 4-burner gas stoves, an oven, a fridge, two sinks (one with a garbage disposal) and dedicated cabinet space for each roommate. Kitchen is furnished and includes a toaster oven, a toaster, an instant pot, an air fryer, and numerous pots and pans. The bathroom is shared among all roommates.

The unit is 5 minutes walking distance to Ashby BART and directly in front of the F bus line, both of which go direct to Berkeley campus. The BART lines also go direct to Oakland and San Francisco. Street parking is easy to find if you're bringing a car.

On top of the $1150 / month rent, we also split internet, PG&E, and a monthly housekeeper. These cost $100 per person in a typical month.

The lease starts on August 1st and runs month-to-month though we prefer someone who wants to stay long-term (6+ months). A 1-month security deposit is required. We are a bit flexible on move-in date.

As for us, we are two roommates, a male in his early 30s and a male in his 50s. Available to do tours this week! Include your rough availability for a faster response; our schedules are flexible at the moment. Remote interviews are also an option.

Lease is currently month-to-month but we prefer someone who will stay long-term (6+ months). There is a 1-month security deposit for the first month of rent.

No smoking and no pets.

Street parking is easy to find nearby.

From helping the elderly to supporting the youth it's one big fest of communities colliding together and having each other backs. Let's not forget the big parties and many fusion restaurants they have to offer. With its diversity of multicultural foods the possibilities are endless and of course let's not forget our classics to New York style pizza to traditional Mexican cuisine it's an abyss of nothing but delicious food coming your way "
