Our experience with the TK program at El Oro Way was unfortunately not a positive one. My child attended this past year, and after about two months, I ultimately made the decision to withdraw them.While I understand the intention behind LAUSD expanding early education and TK opportunities, I have serious concerns about whether traditional elementary school environments are adequately equipped to meet the developmental needs of such young children. In our experience, the program and environment did not feel appropriately designed for this younger age group. There is a significant difference between educating elementary-aged children and supporting children who are only beginning their school journey, and that distinction matters.For families considering TK, I strongly encourage looking beyond academics and asking questions about the daily environment, developmental approach, expectations, supervision, opportunities for play and exploration, and how teachers are supported in working specifically with younger children.Ultimately, leaving was the right decision for our family. We were incredibly fortunate to find Bethlehem Lutheran School right around the corner, where my child found a much better fit and an environment that felt more aligned with what we were looking for at this age.Every family's experience may be different, but based on ours, I would encourage parents of prospective TK students to visit, ask detailed questions, and carefully consider whether the setting truly meets the developmental needs of their child.

If you want your child to hate school and not go to college send them here. This place makes kids miserable and why would they want to continue to college when they're done here. The teachers are mean and rude. They put so much pressure and work on the kid that they spend their whole afternoon and weekends doing homework.
